I think it is impossible to fix ..... if pc does not recognize the hardware

Must first PC to recognize your hardware and then need to reinstall the drivers ...... if you do not know your pc hardware will not identify drivers who'll install
"USB device is not recognized"

Connect UPA. Right click My Computer, Left click properties find UPA in devices list (it might show up as unknown device), it will have an exclamation mark as there is no driver installed. Right click on it and then left click on update driver. Now point it to the driver on the disc your supplier sent you. If you rely on your pc detecting new hardware every time, you are going to be in real trouble. This is kids stuff.

Why not ask advice from upa? Or is this another clone purchase?

1.2?? Got to be clone. Original is at least 1.3. I have to say though: I have both, and the full set of adapters sent with the clone are fantastic. Easy to do NEC. haven't had to lift any pins so far and it reads the eeprom sector only so no messing about typing in eeprom address etc before saving. I only bought clone as a backup because my original kept breaking.

Does your UPA show in hardware devices? Even if it is unrecognized, does it show. If you were in IT you should know that if your driver fails to install on first connection, it will not show up when you plug it in next time. You will have to manually install drivers.

Huh!?!..... Try to measure the fuse mate..the TO93 package with two legs..... "Device not Recognized" problem is not about a driver issue.. it is a harware problem
Check the fuse, maybe there is no 5volts in flash IC where the serial number was stored. so the computer cannot recognize what hardware was pluged
if your UPA hardware is a clone, the program in 24C128 was destroyed by software...

glad you sorted yours out, I now have the same problem :( but only after installing Martech trial/demo.. USB drivers must have killed my upa. Any chance of a PM to the place you found the file or an attachment of the file itself?
thanks
