i know a few people who bought the 2.4m when the Premier League left ART and went to Showtime.. the reception quality wasnt that good, even on sats like Thor an Andrews 1.8m produced better signal quality

some people say they are really poor and not worth buying..
yet a bloke on another forum has a 2.4 in the north west and
he says he picks it up perfectly...so i,m a bit do i dont i at the mo....suppose its the price thats tempting me....it would be nice
if there was some cheap big dish suppliers in the uk...i cant find one!...and cant afford an andrews either!...

i know a lad in Liverpool who did have a 2.4m for Showtime EPL.. he got rid quick time.. if it wasnt a sunny day he hardly got a lock on anything.. the slightest sniff of rain, the Horizontals dropped off and the Vericals were poor

Hi guys..
well after a lot of reading up on this dish maybe they arent that bad...
An engineer on another forum says the problem seems to be people using a standard 40mm lnb and its only illuminating half the dish,,making it perform like a 1m dish...

also you have to play around a bit to get the focal point spot on
and if you have a good sat meter its easy....

if you buy a good c120 lnb he says the dish performs as good as
the andrews 1.8m,,and he,s actually tested both to compare against one another!!!

so it appears its just poor installation thats the problem..
as soon as maplins has one in stock i,m gonna try one out and
report back with the results....

i,m gonna try the 1.8m, and my back garden is really private wi
no 1 looking..the guy on other forums in wales and getting horizontals on a 1.8..so i should be ok cos i,m quite a bit east of wales..and i,ll get a good lnb..
I cant even clear showtime wi my setup but its bugging me not being able to get the signal!!

if its ground mounted then its fine..

Conservatories have foundations and are fixed.. clever arse..

if you can move it easily.. ie

a shed
a table
a swing
a bouncy castle
a satellite dish on a gound mount

it doesnt need planning permission

if its permanently fixed ( screwed to the wall or cemented into the ground) then it does..
