Hi guys, having a bit of an issue getting certain channels (Ant1 Europe, Mega Channel, Alpha etc) to work on my Technomate 5502.
I've installed the latest Phantompatch (TM-5502-HD-01-09-2014) and also Softcam Key (Softcam keys-6-6-14) from here. (http://downloadtmsw.com/bbs/list.php?board=softcamkey)
Once that was completed i then checked the Biss Keys for the channels i wanted and they are all correct but still, the channels remain scrambled.
Where am i going wrong? Have i left something out? Do you need to download specific Softcam Keys for each Technomate model? Because i've merely downloaded the latest one that was made available (see above). The provider seems ok (frequency with the 0 at the front) and everything else seems to be in order. Any help? Pretty new to this and have been searching for answers for a while now but i'm at a loss.
All help much appreciated,
Thanks.

What satellite are you looking at?Make sure you get a good signal. How do you check the biss?Biss keys are normally put in manually:from watching the channel that is scrambled press 8280(doesn't work for 5502 or 5302) which will take you into the biss menu, scroll down to the first available row(row 1,iff this is the first time, and put in the the first 16 hex digits of the biss number,I don't bother with the rest but I've got a TM 6800 super, then save on exit. Not all channels will clear on all models. This is a more up to date softcam: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f120/latest-technomate-softcam-keys-regularly-updated-286853/index11.html#post2372193 . I assume you have these channels from 3.1? east if so what markwi has explained above is correct by loading the softcam you only get certain 'Softcam' channels open and nothing with BISS these have to be entered manually.
I cant remember of the top of my head how to do this on the 5502 as its a lot simpler on the 5402 as explained above, I will ask member @mdt to explain the next time he is online as he owned the 5302 which is nigh on the same box

Yes,It does seem to be different on the 5502 :from watching the scrambled channel you want to see, press the Mute and Exit buttons together. Then select Biss from the menu,I think. This should display the Biss menu and wherever you put the key will be linked to the channel you're trying to see..Cheers

Found out some more info. When you get into the biss menu the following should be set:
Name | Provider |Key |Key data
ANT1 |012548 |01| DD...........8D
The provider id is the transponder frequency with a zero in front. The key in the link I gave above works, first 16 digits.Cheers

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.
I've installed the latest Softcam key from the link that markwi provided.
Also just clarify, i'm aware that on some models when you press 8280 you get a drop down list where you enter the BISS keys manually, but on this model 8280 does not work, but as markwi stated above pressing mute and then exit does work. That said i was aware of this before and it was via this method how i checked all the various channel details previously.
I've added images to this post below just to show you what i'm getting. All details including provider and BISS key (i never entered them manually) seem to be correct gathering from the codes i have seen. No signal or quality problems either, both are at a healthy high 90.
Thanks again for the help.

Try changing the Key field from 0F to 01.

make sure the transponder frequency matches the frequency in the b*** menu, also there are 4 transponders 2 H and 2 V that carry the greek channels. try the vertical ones that use the key 11 XX XX XX XX XX XX XX. also look through the B*** key list on the stb to make sure there are no other keys with a matching frequency to the greek channels. the way the 5302/5502 is set up can be a pain in the arse but i found it does work with a little tweaking. regards mdt

I've tried vertical but cannot receive any signal strength. Also, in regards to the V key you refer to in your post, i've tried searching for that particular B*** key that begins with 11 but cannot seem to find it. I only come across the one that starts with DD.
I've also browsed through the B*** key list and no frequencies match the greek channel frequencies.
Also, why is it that whenever i edit information in the B*** key menu i am unable to change it back to what it was? For example when markwi asked me to change the key to 01 from 0F, i was unable then to change it back to 0F. Also, out of pure frustration i changed the provider to 111111 but again was then unable to change it back to 012568. To restore the right information back i have to rewrite the softcam key. Is that normal? It's pretty frustrating when i want to test things out and cannot then change it back swiftly.
One last thing, just a thought, would a factory reset followed by re-patching and installing the softcam key possibly work? I only ask as i thought that a setting sometime, somewhere was altered which is now causing this issue. Most likely not, but as i said just a thought.
Again, thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

Hi guys, just wanted to update you all.
I've managed to get all the channels working by doing a factory reset from the settings menu. I lost the channel lists but when re-tuned they were all unscrambled. I didn't need to re-patch or install the softcam key like i said i would do in my above post.
So i guess a setting somewhere was preventing the channels from working and the factory reset rectified the issue?
Anyway just wanted to share that with you all and also just in case someone else was experiencing the same problem.
Thanks again for all the help.

If you get time could you post a screen shot showing the B*** settings, just to clarify what's wrong and right.Cheers.

All B*** settings seem to be the same as the pictures i posted above. Nothing has changed in regards to the B*** settings, none that i'm aware of anyway. I've attached an image below, with MEGA channel displaying in the background.
Edit: Just noticed that 01 is still on ANT1 settings, but that was me changing it from 0F to 01 before factory reset. As i said above, factory reset does not seem to have had any effect on patch or softcam installation.
I've also noticed the B*** menu is now available through system information (red button). This was not available before.

Found another bit of info: If you're in System Information and press 2004 the patch side of things(ie codes etc) will be switched off or on,depending on the state of the box. So,maybe, this makes the red button disappear,or appear, and when it's not there the B*** doesn't work.
Well done for sorting it.Cheers
