Audi Q7 ignition switch

Hello All,

As many of you may already guessed it i'm no expert on VAG stuff, but i have this Q7 3.0TDI in my shop.
The ignition switch broke down on it, if i delete the DTCs from the access/start module (which i guess is the ignition switch) the car starts and then it wouldn't even have ignition ligths just nothing happens when i turn the key.
So my question is the key programmed to the ignition switch? or the switch programmed to the car?
And if it is which mcu has the data NEC/Atmel ?? and how can i read it?

Key is programmed in steering lock. Ignition is only coil reader/position of key recognition. You can change it without any coding on another part.

Translation is creating the confusion here,or some members.
EIS=EZS.
ESL=ELV.
If this is true what other member said that keys are in steering lock,then you need ELV/ESL.

You have wrong part . That is looks like to me steering module and that is not your problem if steering lock unlock when you put key..
Keys are stored in EZS module and this is module 05-ACC/Start Authorization in VCDS, and most likely this module is your problem.

Immo off will not help you on this car, You have to fix problem with EZS.
