You have posted that you can rip games using a normal dvd drive in windows. Thats not right. Unless you have a drive with kreon fw, or you hook up your 360 drive, then you cannot rip an original, looked at the tutorial, and seems like a very long way of ripping games. Easier to connect the 360 drive, or get a samsung and flash with kreon fw.

I'm not quite entity sure what you are trying to say,it is tried and tested, but this ripping method is for taking legit/original XBox 360 games that you have and ripping them onto your computer using a normal DVD burner. Other methods require a KREON drive, or an XBox 360 drive hooked up to your computer. If you know of another way without purchasing the KREON drive, please upload the tutorial to let others know, this is only to help others without the means or the technical know how.
this quote below from a fellow member may help
"Just to let you know, I've followed this method now and ripped about 10 games or so with it. Works great with Shaun of the Dead
As a suggestion, at this part:
QUOTE
-You can now close wxRipper and delete the layout file.
Would it be worth adding a short section to explain in case you wish to backup another game straight after ripping the first?
Just in case there are people who are strict on following tutorials, they might think (as I did) you need to restart Wxripper with the film dvd back in before you can rip another game. I was a bit wary at first but I used the hotswap method to stop the disc after ripping the first iso, I then opened the drive using the paperclip method, put new game in and started the disc spinning before ripping the next game. It works fine for me"

Just to let you know Janobi, you are wrong, using the hotswap method you do NOT have to have a flashed xbox drive or a Kreon drive , just a normal dvd drive,a dvd film 7.2 gigs or bigger, wxripper and imgburn to burn it, then test with ABGX, simple as

Tommy made a mistake and said regular dvd drive...sheesh have some common sense ppl, he meant to say regular dvd burner cut him a break and stop posting bs like " no thats not right, nah nah neh neh ga ga goo you gotta us a kweon drive hmpf! ".
Thanks Tom, I read it and as soon as I get my kit to flash the drive I'm trying it. Guide looks easy to follow although I'm familar with computer jargon maybe that's why but thanks!

I haven't read the guide yet but if there are questions over the accuracy of even Kreon rips isn't this going to be more inaccurate?
btw the 6 posts above mine are pointless.

Hello i need some help. I am trying to copy an xbox game and i'm follollowing the guide but do you need to make the rip from a dual layer dvd player only? of can you use a regular dvd burner? Now everytime i try using my regular dvd burner i get this error message

You can rip using a pc drive then patch up the iso with abgx before burning.
I don't fully know if this has short comings in the future, like if you want to use the burnt game on a later model xbox with more powerful anti piracy.
Word has it it's best to rip using an xbox drive because it rips the game properly.

I tried and succuesfully ripped cod bo to my pc making an iso.
Then used abgx360 to stealth patch it. Then burned using layer break code in imgburn and a verbatim dvd+r dl disc. But my xbox360 slim won't read it. I just get either play dvd or open tray. Idon't really won't flash my new 360 slim. It just seems like i'm missing something. HELP!!!!

Does this method require you to flash the HDD of the 360 or will the drive read the burned discs as legit copies? I can flash the drive, I'm just wondering if I'll have to or not.

Hi everyone, just have a little question. I have got backup of original game on dvd already. I own x360key but I haven't install it yet. Would it work if I just rip the game on the hard drive by using xbox backup creator or do I have to do something else to that iso file? Thank you

This guide is over 2 years old and out dated. If anyone is wanting to rip games they would be best following one of cunnys guides. You will also need a new burner to be able to burn all the new games. And the abgx is also out dated for the new games.

Come on now. Is it really that hard to look just a little bit or use the search button. On the first page of the Xbox 360 threads there a 4 stickys in big red writing. One of the guides from cunny will say total guide to flashing and burning. You could also search 1 of my posts for lt max flashing guide

I'm going to try removing a laptop drive and hook it up externally. I wonder if this will work? I saw info on hot swap reading, I'm going into this assuming this tut is based on that.

As I have seen so far the iExtreme Firmware update with the Xbox360USB Pro & Jungle Flasher; Together you need to re-flash your Xbox DVD drive to the 800 iExtreme firmware (after backing up your DVD key & oem.bin). To make back-up copies of your games. Then make sure to use the ABGX program to verify before you burn. You can also get a inexpensive DVD burner a Lit-on iHas 124-624 xx-B I just got a new iHAS224-B with light-scribe for $21 from New-egg and it was simple to change the firmware to the iExtreme (again make sure to get the latest EEPROM update and then back up your firmware. Then you reflash to the iExtreme version). Also make sure to use the Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL MKM-001 or 4x MKM-003 Made In Singapore NOT India or Taiwan, they give the least amount of "Coasters" ;) ** always make sure to check for the newest versions on all software and firmware! ** This is what I found to be the most reliable and fastest way to make your back-ups. Oh when done you re-flash your Xbox drive back to the oem.bin that was saved in the beginning, or just buy a used DVD drive from Fleabay or elsewhere to keep as a permanent one for back-ups. Happy Gaming All :)
