VW T5 disable tachograph

I have a problem with 2007 VW T5 and need to remove tachograph from instrument cluster.
Speedometer not work, and temperature move up and down.

I reed dump after make adaptation with vcds (33 chanel, trip logger - 0). I not have dump before coding procedure. The big "T" and ---- on cluster is gone, but speedo and temperature not work. Please help :(

Every thing what U need is in this thread. Adaptation in chanel 33 . and connect cable in white and yellow plug from tacho.

When you say plug yellow/black wire B1 100ohm resistor, do you mean the resistor goes between the yellow & black wires please?

Hi all, I have removed the tachograph from my 2006 VW T5. I set 33 & 0 in adaptation, & the mileage has reappeared on the speedo. I connected the brown wire (B3) to white/blue wire (B8), soldered a 100 ohm resistor between the yellow wire (B4) & the black wire (B1), & the red wire (B2) to ground as in vagdiag's description. The speedometer still doesn't work. The red wire, btw, reads 8 volts? & you say it should be earthed?
Any help appreciated please!

Hello, I would like to remove tacho since its not going to be used anymore.

This is just what I was looking for. I know it has been long ago, but I just got a T5 with that tacograph and I'm looking for a way to remove it, I am not going to use it at all.

I just joined this form as I see there is a lot of info here about T5 vans. I am in the same situation as some of you - wanting to uninstall the tacho from my T5. I did the adaption 33-0 and got rid of the "T" in the dash and also re-enabled odometer but speedo is still dead. Am curios what you guys post in the attached archives. Is it just the wire manipulating left to do to restore speedo?

Another question to those who did the adaption 33-0 and the wire job, did you encounter any side-effect on the instrument cluster or the car behaves just like one that never had a tacho?

Yes, the fuel gauge problem is because missing speed signal.

the car has km set to 1000km....so dont be surprised when you are reding the value of km,because its corect

Here is your file. To deactivate tachograf you need to set adaption channel 33 (I believe) to 0. For Speed from CAN you can use the file.

You must first deactivate Tachograf in channel 33, than read eeprom and make changes like in your file. Just compare...

I know you shouldn't. Just disconnect the tacho, if you say it is defective, so that it does not make other defects.

Hi!

Could you help me? I have a problem with instrument cluster (7H0920861B) from VW T5.

The instrument cluster had been temporarily connected to another car which has tachograph. When cluster was set back to original car, the cluster lost the speed etc. Now 33 has been changed to zero but speedometer does not work. How can I fix the problem?

I have the same issue as those in here. The cluster I have just fitted was previously a tacho cluster (which I believe is disabled) but the speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge do not work as I think its expecting the tacho to be connected still

Dump is attached (removed) - could someone kindly ensure the tacho is off, and sort the speedo/fuel gauge out please :)

First time you need to remove the tachograph from the instrument cluster. With VCDS, adaptation, channel 33.
Then, if the speedometer and fuel indicator will not work, we can modify in eeprom to take the values from the CAN, or you can make the physical modification, on the wires to "pass over" the tachograph.

Edit : After unplugging this little box, i had a big T on my instrument cluster, so now i can disable the tachograph with VCDS. After that speedomoter is not working + the fuel jauge is going crazy

I don't know if you chose the happiest solution, to read/write with VVDI, your reading is swap bytes.
I assume that km are already visible on the display.
You have here the adjustment for information via CAN.

How do you get the dumps you are posting and loading to your instrument cluster? Can I do that with VCDS? Or do you use a different interface to read the eeprom?
