Just been playing with PLi Iolite and GP images and I'm noticing some fairly significant differences in the way both handle aspect ratios. Not as bad as the problems discussed with Neutrino and the DM500 (neutrino aspect ratio (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=3840)) but still a bit irritating. Are people manually configuring their aspect ratios? If so what works for you and which image are you using?

I'm not as slutty with images as I used to be lol I mainly stick with whatever works. I usually set it to 16:9 and leave it. Don't see any issues with it.

A little promiscuity never hurt anyone. :) My DM600 is currently hooked up to an older (piece of shit CRT) television that doesn't seem to like setting it to 16:9 with PLi in particular. As the brief discussion on the other thread touched on it does really seem to be STB and TV specific though. YMMV as always, heh.

have a check and look at the resolution the channel being sent in....
Pli driver ( on a dreambox ) here doesnt work properly with small stream wss.. ( 544*576 16'9 ), but strange thing is same image on different box( Ipbox 350PRIME) works fine, ..

There are problems with the small stream channels as these are sent smaller than the average resolution of televisions.. but should be overcomeable,, and 16'9 setting should be the one that auto switches according the the dar flag on the stream., very rarely get any issues with medium or large stream wss, ( 704* and 720* )

Pretty much the same issue here. When swapping between NASN @ 720x576 (works flawlessly with 16:9) and National Geographic Wild @ 544x576 (a distorted, scratchy audio blasting mess with 16:9) it's very evident that the auto switching with 16:9 on the PLi image based on the aspect ratio flag isn't really working correctly; IMHO at least. Will have a look at the raw stream some time when I'm a bit less lazy and see what the DAR is set to.
