What is this SMATV/ Pace PSM8000 box exactly?

A good few years back bought some old equipment that I gradually used over time, cables, leads and also load of satellite stuff was included. I never really knew what alot of it all was and threw much of it out not really having a use for it.

Just came across something that was left over though that I kept back. Is a SMATV unit called PACE PSM8000. Am I correct in thinking that this piece of equipment has 4 tuners in it and would be used with a Satellite setup in a hotel or something, where there maybe multiple users/ viewers? It has instruction manual and notes but I cannot work out really what it actually does.
Anyone know anymore about this thing and SMATV and if it could be of any use to me (I do not want to open a hotel though!)

If you connect satellite feed and tv feed and fm feed then the box will condense the signals together and send them down the cable feed you are providing ie all over the house or hotel or suchlike. Try searching more on smatv and you should find manuals by searching the net. hth
