Hello , I have a problem with my carprog. I have flashed the mcu a few months ago and I haven't used my carprog since then. Last week I've tried to use it and didn't worked. I have tried to reflash mcu again and I broke some pins. I bought new mcu from farnell. After the flashing process, I solder the crypto back and when I connect usb sometimes doesn't recognize the device and when the device is recognized carprog doesn't show any serial number..

I had exactly the same. If you have no SN, your AT88 is empty / damaged.
You can reflash with old cracked 4.02 that don't need AT88. Check Attatchment

Just a quick update caprog reflashed and soldered at88 eeprom back minus the connection on pin 1 and hey presto everything works and all modules open on 8.21

I have original carprog and today ive tried doing a 2018 land cruiser airbag module 89170-60E60, i read it obd and i get the message OBD2 Adapter not supported , so i remove the module and wire it directly into module socket using A1 multi and other lead , when i try this i have no success reading , has anybody got any help for me on this problem ??

Well you didn't mention whats inside the module... but I am guessing its renesas...if so then you have to use a10 and solder on to board to write.

I recently bought a Carprog Version 10.93... Having seen that we have no mention of it here I'm beginning to wonder if I bought a lemon as I am having issues reading a Delphi MT35e ECU. I keep getting errors such as, Could not receive CAN kwp frame, Could not send CAN kwp frame and Could not receive device buffer.

So far I have replaced a 100n capacitor at location R1 in the A1 adapter with a 103 resistor. I have no wire from pin 16 to the leg of the MOSFET, Is this essential? I have ordered a new MCP2515 and the 22uf capacitors and will replace upon arrival. I have also ordered a JTAG programmer and will flash the carprog if required. Does any one have a stable firmware and software they use?

Has any one else got a 10.93 and have any known fixes for them?

Yes but some functions still doesn’t work, for example dacia dash , airbags and some of Renault airbags .

Hello ! I, like everyone else, have problems with my Carprog antenna. Chinese Clone Version 8.21. I read tons of antenna repair information. I did all the known corrections so far. Htrc110 was defective. After the replacement, I tried again Chinese antenna, antenna from VAG but the results were unsatisfactory. On a sample of different antennas, I re-calculated the resonance frequency of the LC group. I found info and made my own antenna. As a result, he began to read partially VAG transponders.I test with ready and runnig keys from pasat b5 and fabia mk1 with transponder Id48. I have no trouble to reading ID and UM1 , but when reading UM2 have error weak signal from transponder . Both transponders are locked.With locked transponder should I read UM2? What is UM2 and can I add a new key without reading UM2 ? On the PCB I make the following adjustments - I cleaned a PCB ,replacing the 74HC125D with MM74HC125M, replacing the HTRC11001T, soldering the whole board and other minor corrections. The board is with firmware 150731CAR00064RA . I do not see how to apply photos. Anybody have an idea on the subject?

I have done these procedures by calculating capacitors, resistance of the whole antenna (including the grenator), current through the antenna during reading and recording. The problem is that everything is calculated and the antenna can read the transponder to the end. I have tried with other values, but my greatest success is reading the ID and UM1 of ID48 transponder.

Hello . Is there a way to understand the real version of the firmware? I use software version 8.21 as there is an online version, lib 150731CAR00064RA. In some places I find that one of the 4 firmware versions does not work with the transponder antenna properly. I've done everything I find on the web and still does not work correctly when reading transponders. I'm starting to think that the problem is software. is it possible the vendor to mislead me to buy version 8.21 but to sell my version of 4? What is the difference between online and off-line versions? what's the better of the online version?

No i didn’t talk about flashing carprog , i spoke about options for R/W different type of EEproms by 11.35

Flashing FW is another story and for 11.35 you need appropriate dump , which doesn’t exist yet for clones.

Sorry, this AT88 Dump is not correct. To read you need the password for this Chip, otherwise the content will be erased. The correct dump must be much longer. But i respect your goodwill to help :)

Need your help guys. Having troubles with China clone after reflash. I sucessfully reflashed the MCU with J-Link, buh when connected to PC it says USB not recognized. Tried different USB cable but same problem. Tried another PC but same same problem. I tried 4.74 firmware and 8.21 firmware.

have you removed the GND-Pin on the MCU? If this is not the problem, check the USB-Datalines to the MCU. If still not works, then you killed the MCU

I changed the software and firmware to the 3rd post. I have repaired the carprog and the A1 cable as described.
When IMMO reading on the 2005 Caddy, Touran 2003 with A1 cable works perfectly! Trying to read IMMO on golf 5 2005, golf 5+ 2008 and Passat b6 2007 I have a problem. Reads only the dashboard model, coding and nothing more. Says it reads, reboots the dashboard and nothing more. Can't read mileage too. On the same cars, can read Eeprom through A1 without any problem (no matter what model eeprom I choose ).I'm sure carprog and A1 works properly because it reads Caddy and Touran without any problem. I watch videos of colleagues reading golf 6 without any problems. I do not have this car and can not find it. Is there any problem with Carprog and Golf 5 , Passat b6 or my carprog is damaged ?
Please help because the client is nervous and wants a car back .

I have recently received a Chinese clone, with lib 081105CAR001773I and got v10 software with it. I was trying to find & clear airbag sensor crash data (quite old, is on the supported list), but than the included v10 carprog says it needs Internet, when I connect to the Internet - it freezes. I can only read the 95160 chip and edit the HEX content manually, but automatic finding crash does not work. It displays some messages like "crash removed" but the bin file stays the same. I also tried v4, v5, and v8.2 carprog software from this forum. I can only read / write to the chip, but I have to edit it myself. It says "crash found" but automatic clearing crash data does not work. I am sure the airbag module has error, when I upload already cleared bin file from this forum it's working correctly.

Is it normal by Chinese clones that automatic finding crash and clearing it is not supported or mine is even poorer quality ?

Ignore this. Its just as good as the original was. Very reliable tool and has saved my butt coutless times. Just make sure to have 8.21 online version.

Thanks in advance ;)My version of EU clone working well with Volvo dash, of course only models which can be done with A1 or A1 multy.
Newer models where need to be used A1+ i can't do because I don't have A1+.

My version can r&w All epproms and MCUs very well.

74hct125m isn't good solution, with that chip programmer will work better then China clone but still will not work all.

Regarding original programmer, maybe it is older version before they made changes in HW but it have to be checked.

Hello does anyone know to get carprog to detect from usb mine arrived today with version 10.93 I believe without checking tried obvious cable 12v + windows XP Windows 7 and Win 8.1. All other, higher version, are useless if u don't have related firmware because non of new options will not (can't) work.
Especially versions higher then 10.05, because many options become online.
Second thing is :
Non of clones from Ali or eBay can not work properly so don't expect miracle for 40-50 eur.

Only EU clone can work well as original and only v8. 21.

So I fu want to buy Clone u can forget Ver. Higher then 8.21.

Hope this will be clear enough.


NEW model adapter v2018 is just upgrade of old adapters and it exchange 5-6 different old adapters for lower price.

just got my carprog but it will not connect to the software just comes up with "no device attached" anyone come across this problem before? its a clone from ebay would have thought it would have at least connected to the software. i have checked that it is picked up in device manager and it does its just not picked up in the carprog software. Hi,I am from India and we have a small family business of completely fixing totaled cars.

So recently I began my search to learn how to clear crash data from the modules. I have learned that there a number of tools that can be used like eeprom programmers(though it is very limited to a few cars.), ultraprog (I learned about ultraprog just in this forum)and Carprog(from AliExpress).

Though any car can come by our garage at any point of time to get fixed but the most frequent cars are:

HYUNDAI= I10 Grand, I20, Verna, Creta, Accent, Elantra

HONDA= City, WRV, Accord

MARUTI SUZUKI= Swift, Swift Dzire, Ertiga ,Vittara Brezza, S-Cross, Baleno

TOYOTA= Fortuner, Innova

RENAULT= Duster, Kwid

FORD= Eco Sport, Figo

MAHINDRA= Scorpio, SUV, TUV

Though these car are most frequent but any other car can come by any time.
So my questions are:

1. Can this cloned carprog works fine for clearing modules?
2. Is there any limitation of this device?
3. Where can I get the cleared data for different modules particularly for cars in India?
4. The carprog software(that comes in CD), does it already have module data for some cars or all cars?
5. What is the difference between carprog "8.21 online" and "V9.31/V10.05/V10.93 offline" ?
6. Since every module is different, how do I know how to connect that module to carprog? (Will these instructions be available in CD that comes with device?) (I have some soldering experience)
7. Since I have realised that there are bad clones on AliExpress too, therefor please guide me to best version of Carprog on Aliexpress.

Hello everyone! Today I'm happy to be able to contribute with something that may be useful for many of you, after learning so much from all the magnificent knowledge that is on this site...
It's an observation I made when I went on the process of updating my CarProg firmware. I suppose not all boards will be the same as mine, and don't know if someone may have realized about this already, because honestly I haven't read the whole 47 pages on this topic haha, but here we go:
We all know that in order to update the firmware we need to lift processor's pin 55, and connect it to 3.3 V so that the chip gets erased, and therefore accepts new firmware. Well, what I found is that specifically in my board, pin 55 isn't connected to anything, but only to a test point that is the end of the circuit for that pin. This means that in this case there's no need to unsolder that :ambivalence: tiny pin, with the risk involved in doing so. It's only needed to solder a wire to that test point, which is beside "C19" marking on the other side of the board, and just connect it to 3.3 V when needed. I ended up removing the whole processor just to confirm my thoughts, but it's the way it looked indeed. Here I attach some photos so that you can see it.
Mine is a chinese clone that was bought in November 2.018. I don't know if all current ones are manufactured the same way, but hope this helps. :)

Yes... I have many times & after done flashing you would have to replace HC125 to HC125M as marked in step 4..Other wise it will never actually write to anything.

Now counter appears and I don't have NEC clusters available.

When i connect JLink on carprog in "project settings" i detect ARM7TDMI Core 0X3F0F0F0F, after this when
i try to connect i received message "Unable to halt CPU core, failed to connect". What is problem? I skip erase current firmware,
because MCU is new, maybe this is problem?.

hi mates, I can't understand a thing about car prog, in practice I made a clear of an eprom airbag everything went well, these days I had a twin eprom on which to clear, but when I write the same clean file that I have already used verification after writing goes wrong. why?

I did all the tutorials regarding the flashing of the carprog. I tried the method that I posted to you. It is functional, I just simplified and modify the flashing procedure for that it is simple for the novices (I am one myself).


I just observed and tested the different methods in order to arrive at something simple steps.
1) No need to unsolder AT88SC.
2) no need to lift pin 55 or solder a wire on the pin 55 (according pcp) .
3) the reset is done on a single pin as in the photo.
4) photos of the connector that I made.
I did not put you the flashing procedure (there is a lot of post on this subject). I use the segger software “flash V 4.98” and of course the segger interface jlink .
PS look at the photos and make sure you have the same pcb. have a good flashing.

Jelp I have tried various caps on antenna to fix it to work without "Antena not connected" error which comes instantly as i hear antenna relay click so its then HTRC110 IC side when try PCF or ID48 reading?
Example Texas chip no problem reading and i am understanding it is done by other chip beside HTRC110.




Does that chip go through those logic chips which needs be replaced for EEPROM reading too (74HC125D)?


As i do measure antenna via relay pins it is 5.6 Ohm. Antenna itself reads same too as direct reading. Tester says 0.21mH And i have 7.7nf now there as setup.. tried larger and smaller values and no difference.. so chip itself records antenna fail bit as true for some reason maybe.



Chip itself gets 4.6V as Vdd.



Could that HTRC110 chip be bad? Replace it with another or PCF7991AT chip.

Test of Carprog says OK on first and D1 tests.



Update: Found a problem.. trying fix it. Once got smoke out bit but still works as i was faster than smoke. :dancing:

I got reading to work. After did change those 4 chips AND the HTRC chip it started to try (Transponder signal low) and after fine tuning antenna it reads and writes finally time to time.

I found it. Solution looks OK. CP 8.21 work but not tested on car.

Anybody know, why my CP after select some function in cp, ( eg. edc16 vag ) disconnect from usb ? Sounds like cable unplug. I dont know why, cable OK, tested on 2 pcs CP.

Tried to get radio code from vw technisat by using my original carprog, it failed, I get "read error"

If i read the eeprom under the eeprom menu 24c16, it reads fine and i get dump. but cannot get the code.

First off...thanks to all who have posted in this thread.

I've reflashed my clone carprog with both the v4.47 and v8.21 at the beginning of this thread but when I connect the mcu to my computer and launch the carprog software the device is not recognized. I do not have usb human interface listed in device manager either. I've tried with both the 12v external power connected and without. The corresponding lib file from this thread is in the same folder as carprog.exe

When reflashing the mcu I did not remove the at88 chip since the latest tutorials I found said there was no need to remove it.

If I erase the mcu and connect to the computer the computer recognizes that something is plugged in but cannot identify it.

I've tried multiple usb cables and multiple computers all with the same result.

Is this a sign that either the at88 chip is corrupt or erased or maybe the mcu is dead?

Does anyone have any suggestions to try to bring this back to life or should I just buy another mcu and start over?

I've tried reprogramming with both bins v4.47 and v8.21 from the beginning of this thread and both write and verify successfully using jlink. After programming both bins result in the same thing with the carprog mcu not being recognized when connected to the computer. The USB human interface doesn't show in the computers device manager either.

After quite a bit of searching and retrying I've come to the conclusion that either my at88 chip was empty or erased somehow during the reflash.

I found and flashed the v4.01 without at88 bin file from here in the DK forums and my carprog is back to being recognized by my computer.

Follow up question though....Am I limited to using on the v4.01 firmware or are there similar newer firmwares that will work without the at88 chip like the v4.01.

Success finally....took 2 carprog mcu's to get to the point I'm at now. Carprog #1 would not accept any firmware except v4.01 without at88.... carprog #2 I was able to upgrade to firmware v8.21 bit received errors when performing the a9 test which I couldn't straighten out. In the end I swapped the at88 chip from carprog #2 to carprog #1 and now have a working mcu upgraded to v8.21. Reads, writes and looks like it can clear crash on the 95320 chip. Although I haven't reinstalled the rcm back into the car.

I'm by no means an expert....but 10.93 is the software version of the program running on your computer. This is not the firmware version actually flashed to the carprog mcu.

You can reflash the mcu using v8.21 firmware at the beginning of this thread.
