Agreed. great to have development on the new models,but still some bugs on cars around 06ish as well. That's why i bought it, so Id have a reliable tool and not have to depend on cheap toy programmers that could damage a car . Ive failed on a few with it and still find myself reverting to the cheaper ones at the minute to bail me out.Hopefully a few updates will iron out the bugs.

Seat Ibiza 2008. Tried key learn- vvdi2 said "cant auto detect ECU type.Please set ECU type in ECU window manually". But option isn't there for Simos 9.1 ECU. Samic can VVDI2 program key under Instrument With NEC +24C32 or do I remove dash?
Failed to auto-detect ECU on a Seat Leon 2010. .Got security access waiting time 10 mins. Then got same message ""cant auto detect ECU type.Please set ECU type in ECU window manually".
Tried under key learn and got another security access waiting time 10 mins.
Then straight after that a third security access waiting time 10 mins. Used different tool after that.

With each data block the Date, Time, Lang ID, Interface S/N & VVDI2 Soft Version are also sent

It's obvious that at the date & time that the data was sent you had either the module or vehicle in your possesion.

For some reason they have stopped the updates from happening automatically, if you have 1.0.7 it prompts you that 1.0.8 is available they have altered 1.0.9 from being detected & 1.1.0 was never added.

Why does samic provide the updates via a mega link & not a link from there website?
If the update is not available from their website, the software no longer does it automatically and samic does not provide it, how does a legitamate customer have access to updtes?

Samic, transponder soft is not working after couple updates properly.
1. could not precode BENZ ML chip
2. Could not precode GM circle plus chip
3 problem reading compleat PCF7936 chips.
4. BMW EWS3 via K line stopped reading eeprom ( only worked with original verion)

VVDI engineers want to apologize for that inconvenience .
VVDI 2 was out quick and not fully tested due to limit of cars.
In a fact , to make new modules they need more data / examples , especially from Europen car which are not in China market.
Lot of VVDI users not even do VVDI SW update, not complain here for some incompatibility, bug found , issue etc.
Engineers decide to download that data automatically just for "continues improvement" only.

In next VVDI_2 update, user can decide if want to share data with engineers or not.

Clearly the point being that VVDI 1 software update was no issue so clearly VVDI 2 software would be issue so completely relevant to mention VVDI 1 in this context.

Also you dont have to own VVDI 2 to be concerned about the privacy with it, so being concerned about privacy does not mean you run windows, and as your fully aware the point being windows spies on you much much than a log clearly only there to help development.

I think they should have made it known that they send these logs, but to be honest they are from China where civil liberties are not that high and I would think it didn't even cross their mind that a automatic log would be an issue.

Also many would opt out of sending any logs, which is fine but how many times have you clicked autodetect etc and it not detected it correct - wouldn't it be nice if the software sent a log automatically to give them the version number and the correct option and then they added it automatically to the software?

It is just about transparancy of them saying exactly what they are sending.

We only need to downgrade cas3+ when its istap version and its not possible to read cas by obd so need to downgrade to read it , right ?
If i do the job on bench or by dump do not need to downgrade?
So for cas3+ no istap no need to downgrade just need to cycle key up to 16 times and if fails need to get ISN ,right ?
But when we cannot retrieve ISN and we have cas3+ or cas3+ istap and the 16 or 64 attemps did not worked ,what is the soltution?

Precoded all three and tried adding them, only one of the three would add after multiple tries and it would not work at all in the programming mode. I tried with an unprogrammed key and the programmed key with the same result. All three keys show up as precoded, just not programmed.

I would like to have the new keys as the only ones programmed, any idea how do to it? Could it be stored codes in the car somewhere causing the issue? Can I program it through vag-com (I got the pin from the adding key process but the pin wasn't accepted by vag-com, lock time was 0 for all).

Any insight is helpful, it is a car I bought for myself so I have the ability to play around a bit with it (it is a little far away from where I live but I will be there every couple of days).

What is amazing is the video that show the cheapest SVDI making key for 5 th immo gen , I tested only Datasmart clone for 5th immo and worked ok ,but he cannot shut down the alarm in the car .
All those bad news make me wary about xhorse new products ,vvdi2 still incomplete or bugy also vvdi-prog not working good , i think is better to buy VVDI and BMW multitool instead of VVDI2 at least they do what they claim but what about future for those ''old'' tool ??? Will they receive any future improvment or updates ????

I paid about 1500 euros 3 years ago vvdi + 5th immo tool
When I received it it worked fine but when I plugged tag antenna or 5 th immod vvdi disconnected ,seems to have no power enought I tried about 20 differents computers with only

vvdi software same problem.
VVdi engienier tried to help throught teamviewer and told me to wait maximum few weeks ,never replied me.
A few months before end of garanty vvdi let me down seems to be ftdi eprom problem and some dk members meet same problem like me juste to make a search on dk forum
I never tried to install another software like fvdi or svdi ,only vvdi original program vvdi engienier never repair it no news about them
He told me to wait to study the problem ( that they know cause they suggest some dk vvdi owner to send back vvdi repaired it and sent it worked to customer )
The reality was from them to win time to wait end of garanty
I contacted recently carsets to know if I can benefit from vvdi exange with vvdi 2 as they suggest for 519USD and give my vvdi serial number
The told me they will make a search about my serial and will give me answer within 24H throught skype .
Since one month I never had any answer
Be carrefull about usb ftdi eprom problem cause several vvdi owner had this problem

it was dealer key - I even tried to program 1 key with the working key that would start the car and it would not work (to clear out all of the other ones)

I was able to successfully make 3 dealer keys but only one would add to the immo. There were 4 programmed keys when I started (so it's not like all the slots were full)

VW passat. B5: Pulled PIN, programmed key, corrected miles.
VW Passat B6 2009: Pulled PIN but couldn't get 6 bytes CS, needed comfort dump.
VW Transporter T5 2006 : Pulled PIN Programmed key, no remote programming.
VW LT35 2003 : Correct miles failed.
Audi A4 2006 : mileage correction success .

Parts of old type remote programming need separate remote key adaptation,cannot via VVDI2 key learn directly

Went to the car again today, the key learn function would not work. Had to use my datasmart to clear all of the keys and then I was able to successfully add the new keys via vvdi2. Could not get it into learn function, ensured no lock time and tried multiple times but nothing, only the add key function.

Those are really old chips, if you put the ID13 next to the T5 and sneeze, the data will jump on to the T5.


The TM100 had similar problems when it was 1st released,

ID48 Magic II has an option to be unlocked. There are Word10 and Word11 that contain PIN for unlocking it. You can make experiment. Get blank transponder, write your own pin and lock it. Then using the pin set by you unlock it. For example- VAG Immo 3 locks the transponder but you can re-use it by unlocking with default pin.

In next step of key programming you need to type it manually so it is important to show it. I managed to load cs this time from immo file but sometimes you need to know it.

mate,its not software bug.because of your PC system can't capture the focus.
you should move the mouse cursor to the "CS"option,then move away.try several times will auto show you.
do NOT click the"CS"option,only move to then move away.

This tacho use 12 bytes CS for keys, simple, if you only need 7 CS bytes get first 7 bytes that VVDI show you and you have AVDI 7 bytes, but if you want to exchange tacho you need to write full 12 bytes or you will lose original keys...

You need to choose under PORTS.

The big problem with all tools not just VVDI interface is any windows after XP.
The problem is that Win 7, 8, 10 can not separate drivrs if you using 2 devices with Genetic FTDI drives.
Either you have to delete all drivers that was install before or use other PC /Laptop.

Let say you want to have Galletto , AVDI ,X-Dash SMOK and VVDI on same PC with win 7. Forget about that. Never going to happen.

Simple solution for all Tool companies is to make own driver, But that of course cost money and no one wants to do this EXCEPT Only one company,
that is Ross-Tech. They have them own driver and no problem ever with that.

The important data in the id48 is the encryption key which you can not read.

I have a box off, I have already spoken with UOBD2 but say only when they had my old.
Also soon after buying the new VVDI2 I bought them the immo activation 5th, who said only activate to receive the old VVDI.

Basically right now I am unable to work, I'll have to clear away customers because UOBD2 do not turn on the box.

I sent photos of the box, the record of the post office, the traking on the site.

Unsuccessfully box without work.

I asked to activate me at least another week to allow time for them to receive and say not to.

Who have bought this method, be prepared to come to China and stop at customs until they have run out of work.

about exchange trade,usually user receive VVDI2 first and get temporary authorization for 1 month.
under 1 month user should send back VVDI,after the dealer get VVDI and make confirmation with user,then will authorization for user.

under 1 month user should send back VVDI,after the dealer get VVDI and make confirmation with user,then will authorization for user.

I still do not have access to box, the UOBD2 not raise me VVDI1 which is from day 3 in their post.

Then immediately bought the immo 5th.

Not activated, only they said when recebecem the VVDI1.

Right now I'm without VVDI2 working are with the counter to 0 days.

I'm losing customers, fail to work commitments.

I know that the fault is not the Samic or the Xhorse.
The UOBD2 is not raised.
I as a customer could not get off work, I was 5 days unable to work, client who came from afar with paid hotel had to return home.
But it is now all resolved, thankfully.

Pass thru function still not working for me.
I set VVDI2 to Toyota in Pass thru config application but got an error message saying 'unable to connect to VIM'.
Tested using Techstream v 11.00.017 and 10.20.030.

I have a vas5054a with pass thru drivers and that works fine with Techstream.

I am still constantly getting the security login error on Cas2.

I have to remove the cas and use the can adapter. Also it always throws out the DME-CAS sync and I have to spend 10 mins messing around with FVDI to fix it.

At times this tool really impresses me, but really let's me down on other occasions.

I never had any of these issues with multitool and brought these problems to your attention months ago when the tool was first released.

method1:if so,close down turn on the ignition switch,then write KM directly(Don't read KM)

VVDI old had this function, you could repair some ecu to dump problems.

Because right now pretty much I got a downgrade of VVDI options for VVDI2.

tried unlocking a bunch of b8audi immo5 fobs, none would unlock and I couldn't make any of them a dealer key from locked status (read somewhere that some won't unlock but still programmable)

After installing the new version my vvdi software cannot find the device. I have tried to install the drivers manually but it didn't work.

I went back to version 1.1.2 and it finds the device again.
