miha99 your correct in one way, but i think it will be possible to do it via jtag as you are connecting to processer via jtag to read external flash which is the K9F flash chip that you talk about. All thats it a matter of doing is finding the points where you can connect the jtag too, it would be easyer to flick the chips off and read in beeprog.

@ sergey take a close look on pictures (samsung flash k9F), china engineers use programmers with tsop 48 adapter for flashing and I`m sure thers no info for jtag connection on diagun x431.
This is good idea.Probably flash with damp sell in china.

Genuine Launch you can buy just from your country from here http://www.launchtech.co.uk/
The genuine tool from China will not be in English and even it will be you'll not be able to download the updates becasue you will be blocked when you'll try to make an account.

Why not purchase a "modified" version for less than half of what you would pay for an original version.. Both tools do exactly the same job! I've dealt with both types and they perform exactly the same..

Are you sure when you said that? Or you talking about menu language?
The menue language you can change like you said but the car sw are in chinese and for this you'll need the English language and you need to crack the sw for this.
Tell me what car brand you need another language, let's say Spanish and I will send you to try to change the language in car sw. The car sw language are for each S/N you cannot use it for all S/N.

There is no such thing as clone diagun there all genuine made in launch factory they have just been modded from chinese to euro they change the firmware in the main unit so no matter what diagun you buy it will be genuine unit but hacked or modded firmware. There is also i guy on ebay selling the updates where he will change your S/N to his genuine one so you can get all the updates from him not tryed and tested yet but i will be going next week .

From my struggles to get updates for my "cloned" diagun. I have found out that the solutions available from Chinese suppliers are:
- send them your bluetooth connector and they change the chip with a serial number that they can provide updates for (or maybe they just flash the memory)
- they can send you a replacement chip and you mount it yourself, then get updates from them.
- buy one time updates (costs US$125)

Some suppliers can provide updates. But it's hard to verify that without the benefit of feedback from other customers. I once asked a supplier to send me a copy of their GAG directory in the unit they sell. I found it is an old copy. This is an indicator that they cannot give updates. Or I ask for a copy of their latest software update before I buy. Then check in Launch site what is the latest. Not foolproof but could be an indicator if they have the capability to give new updates.

Hi SD card and smartbox need to have matched s/n so if your another,s bluetooth connector has differnt s/n then msg will be "contact your launch dealer" but if same s/n it will just work.

Serial number is in the main unit's vehicle diagnostic software and also in a chip in the bluetooth connector (diagun smartbox). Each vehicle diagnostic folder has serial number embedded in the software and it has to match the serial number written in a chip in the bluetooth connector.

Hence you cannot copy the diagnostic files for a Benz in one Diagun and copy it over to another Diagun.

You also cannot use another Bluetooth connector from another unit. Serial numbers will not match.

If we find a way to "easily" flash the bluetooth connector to match serial numbers of available software updates, then we can somehow share our updates across different diaguns.

Well, what I can share is that it couldn't clear a fault code for an unsuccessful programing of a key on a 2006 VW Jetta NA (even though I programmed the key afterwords) ...
And it is not the first fault code that it can not clear.
I also tried to clear an ABS fault code on a Toyota Highlander 2009 without success.
There are other ones that I couldn't clear.

if you were not lucky to buy a diagun in chinese language,i suggest you just get a piece of Diagun language chip will be ok.
I think there are someone maybe have encountered the problem of ordering a diagun but got the language in chinese.

This is no help for your diagun, but for fiat you can use fiatecuscan (with elm or kkl cable). Maybe it's worth a try 'til you get your update for diagun.

Your real S/N is that one that appear for few seconds on the display of your PDA when you make a connection with the interface.
I can help you when you want with an email of my supplier to update yor tool with sw you need for your serial.

How do you know my S/N becasue I'm nevere shared and I will never shared because I don't want that my S/N to be blocked by Launch.

The S/N is diffrent, each tool has its S/N
You cannot have it mine just if you bought your tool from my supplier but he sent me an email to ask me if I know you becasue he dosen't know you.

After Chinese New Year I will contact my supplier to tell me more about it. That's will be after February 12.
It is a newest Launch device, I don't think it is such different then Diaguna but I saw that it is support 12V and 24V, maybe you diagnostic Havy too. Who knows we will see.

Have a question one of my customers has asked me?
Can the Diagun wind back rear brakes on VW, Audi and Mercedes models?
The only winding of rear brakes I've done is via a "wind back tool" to manually push in the pistons on the rear callipers..

Any idea's is there an option on your version?

Your customer must be nuts! I use a Air operated tool to do that job and sell them as kits also.
How the hell does software push and turn a hydrolic piston back?! Not unless some new cars have gone to electric calipers but not that I know of

Just becasue the softwear for Heavy Duty are different and will not work with Master or with Diagun just with his dedicated tool.
What do you think that they are stupind peaple, it is marketing, why do you want to pay for a single tool and you can connect to cars and track for the same price?
Or it is better to have to diffret tools and you need to pay for both of them. Who lose and who earn?

Solo has same platforme with Diagun
It is too small....so what. I like it then Master just becasue it is smaller. I dremt to a tool like this.
Smaller, good and a small price.
I mean for clones.
You can find something similar TEXA or Delphi DS100 or.....
Solo it is not so big just a littel bit then Diagun.
I want to see the price and maybe I will take one , so just in case.

Some like to have a small tool but some not.
I only say my opinion.
I will get one too if the price its good.
Launch release many scanners but they not work hard on the software updates.
They offer updates evry day but there its no diffrence betwen that updates,only a very small diffrence.
Many people ask for more options on FORD Euro,Renault,etc,but they not do nothing.

Last week i work on Isuzu Tropper 2001 with Launch Diagun and Master ,car have a lot of DTC and scaners say NO FAULT FOUND! ,i disconnect most of sensors on the engine and only 1 Fault come out (EGR)
Then with Tech2 i see all the true (a lot of DTC)

Such a big name like Launch and you connect in some models of Ford ,for exemple TDCI 2002 Focus and you can only read and clear codes,in some models you have live data....
I think Launch Company is very commercial ,they like to sell only,and then to make the products bether.

Don't worry about that.
I did mine.
But when you compair two tools make it for instance like this Diagun with KTS or Texa or Delphi or whatever you want, I mean the multibrands tools compair between them. Please no make comparation between a factory tool and a multibrand tool.
I saw that nes sw for Ford are diffrent and you can see a lot of things but you must to try automatic, don't try a conection like: year, model and controler. Becasue it will show you just read and erase DTC and how you said LIVE DATA.
Try like this. I tried to connect to 2001 KA on Airbag and I coudn't when I tried to connect like this: year , KA, Airbag.
But when I did an automatic search to show me all controler installed in a car I could. Same was on my wife Alfa 147 with sw version 16. When I tried to connect manually on ME7.3.1 I couldn't just if I search y 147, engine, etc.
So I don't blame nobody but I'm agree 100% with you when you said that they wanna sell a lot.

Hi does anyone have a copy of there cf card with the software on it to have a look for the encryted serial code,
I would think when you connect to launch china it only blocks dodgy serials, and sends the files clear so when you buy of someone else all they have done is downloaded useing a genuine serial,
packed them into a folder to send by email or if yoiu send them your flash card they load it on to that. as anybody tried loading a clean flash card with a fresh download from launch, as it would be impossible for them to encrypt the code on every individual file, if a serial is added it must be at the start of a download or at the end of a download.

With a PC you can connect it just by cable
Softwears you can add on it.
My advise is to keep it for what is made.

I am weary about online updates for clones - I believe these can and do get locked out.
Mind yiou my supplier can update any serial number and even change serial number on any device.
I think this is safer and best solution - Just my opinion tho and i am very happy to keep him as my supplier as he is very helpfull for on going problems and updates when you buy his devices.

When I went to connect my Diagun to the PC to register the Diagun and I had a program running that showed my IP address as if I was in China, Could I download updates for Europe vehicles?

You can do it to increase because but you cannot decrease just if in ECU it is storeged a smaller value then in the dashboard
I could did this on a Alfa 147 but just increase becasue in dashboard was storeged a smaller value. You know some guy change the millage in dashboard.

Same spec as the master though a lot faster than the master. Battery time has never been an issue for me couldn't tell you how long it lasts as I always put it on charge once I have used it (force of habit) not sure if it'll charge when connected to car as i always use the bluetooth but ill have a check in the morning. Charger is 5v and 1000ma though i use one of the leads and a usb lighter in the car for charging it looks like you may be able to get a phone charger for it though I dont know for which phone????? As for the multi pin socket looks good but i dont think itll get much ware as some cars it wont fit due to size/placement of eobd port on cars I always have mine in the short 20cm ish extender cable so itll be that that id replace though by the looks of it itll be a good few years down the line. Its mostly volkswagens I work on nearly stealer spec dont think youl find a better multicar tool thatll be better for vags.Not had much of a play on other makes though its done most I did do a nissan note the other week and it wouldn't touch it need to check for an update for that though i did get the nissan through the standard OBDII software on it. Never dropped it yet looks like a slightly padded mobile phone so it should take the odd drop.

I bought my diagun from kingdiag 2 months ago, the coverage for vehicles in Colombia south america is very good, but I think that my diagun is a copy, I can not upgrade directly from x431.com. my provider in China (kingdiag) sends me via email.
I had trouble reading renault SRS codes, connect my diagun a mazda and put it to fail, in a Renualt megane 2 will cause problems with the ignition key card fortunately I disconnect the Smart Box and everything worked fine again.

you had these problems? my diagun a clone?.
do you know if the diagun has caused damage to a computer or a vehicle module?. because I distrust connect the diagun to a expensive car (Mercedes, Volvo, Audi)

Well for now I didn't get a car that the sw cannot do.

Free software updates for ever is false - I hear of other saying same or even one year and that does not always happen.
My supplier more honest and it seems the encryption from launch has changed so updates a little hard to get just now - but I don't fully understand all that - There is always just431.com if you can get into that site and not end up with the ~~~~ site!

factory. The factory got the MCU flash or somebody manage to get it which unlikely but possible. If this Flash is in my
hand I can change it. I can flash the MCU but 1st I must have that good flash. To flash the MCU,

Logically, it's impossible but like I mentioned before if
he got a good flash he can just erase & re- flash
with a different s/n.

It was a DREAM TO ME TO that came thru with this tool.

BIG PROBLEM with , " no connection with smartbox "

1st working with Mitsu, lancer 99" 16pin. Nice, whanted to kill SRS light. after conection with airbagmodul, something happend.
It kicked me out ( no connection with smartbox), and did never get connect with car att all again. Tryed 10 times with cabel and with blue....( I first try newest V. later the erlier and onley newest got connection, and feeling that earlier destroyd somthing, Just feeling)


OK, **** this car at moment. And put it in Volvo XC 70, 2006.
1st time same with bluet.
Ok, Put kabel and restart THEN all working FINE with this car.

Coming home trying MB CLK 230 1999 with 38pin adapter, same shit, NO connection with smartbox. Tryed some different ways, no no no no no.


Next car Opel Astra 2005, same shit, no connection with smartbox message.

Above cars have connection with one low level tool ! (dont count mitsun)

Free software updates for ever is false - I hear of other saying same or even one year and that does not always happen.
My supplier more honest and it seems the encryption from launch has changed so updates a little hard to get just now - but I don't fully understand all that - There is always just431.com if you can get into that site and not end up with the ~~~~ site!
If they promise to much it will be false - to good to be true then it usually is!

A. There are various types of errors that can occur while transferring updates from your hard drive to your CF card. Decompression errors are common, and they occur because of a corrupt file system in the card, or the card may be full.
Reformatting the CF card will correct these errors. The process for a CF card reformat is as follows:
1. Insert your card reader into an available USB port and insert the CF card into the reader,
2. Open 'My Computer' and right-click on the removable disk (CF card),
3. Select Format from the menu,
4. Select 'Quick Format' and let it run,
5. The CF card is now ready for use with the X431 Update software.
If this doesn't correct the situation, you may need a new CF card, Contact your local dealer for assistance

Sure, cant tell you about the software that was used like i say it said LPC flash and the rest was in chines he pluged obd plug in to it i guess to power the smartbox up and small cable to other side then pluged in to usb of pc then one click job done, as for same s/n for smartbox,s you can have 2 with differnt s/n but you must have the same s/n software on your SD for the right s/n of smartbox not sure if i explaned very good hope you understand.

If you have ever read the s16 manual you will see it's never mentioned for Diagun

I have chosen to have 2 smart boxes for my Diagun - Means I can send 1 away to reflash to different serial when needed etc

Just to let know all the people like me (who don't like reading manuals and instructions) who thought their Diagun battery is no goos (becaus it does not hold the charge) ...
When you think you turn off your Diagun and press briefly the power button, YOU ARE NOT TURNING IT OFF ...
You are just putting it on standby(or something similar) , and it is keeping on draining juice, that is why the battery is drained if you turn it back on in let's say 4 hours ...
To turn it really off (and in the same time not use the power from the battery), hold the power button depressed for about three seconds, you'll see briefly a windows red icon for power turn off.
This way, you really turn the power off and save the charge of the rechargeable battery.

Hope this will help someone ...

New softwears need new drivers.
New Dispaly means new firmwear.

install an update that goes down here in August 2010, the copy no problem when working with x431 of calibration screen appeared, then was calibrated into the car wanted to spend two processes but leave the screen then wait a moment and there does not go as that the x431 is locked, it does nothing that could be faulty

If you didn't made a backup...this is very bad.
And tell me where did you get the uploades?
This ones are for your S/N?
If item aren't for you S/N, this will never work.
For Diagun no cracked softwears like for Master or GX3.

There are just updates for S/N used by ecutool.
You'll not find something more and I don't belive that they can provide to you updates.
Me personal I don't need. My supplier send me updates and for now I don't worry about that.

I have purchased 2 Diaguns and when I tried to register those, 1 was already registered in Bolivia and the other in Brazil.The Chinese distributors somehow they work on a chip, and able to use someone else registration. They have successfully done so, that Launch factory has seen substantial decrease in the sale :laugh:of the original Diaguns, so they are prepared to work on some changes that will be very difficult for the clones to sell so easily. The distributors are talking about increasing the Diagun price because they will have to sell original ones in the near future.... so take advantage of today's low prices.......

My dear frien tools are from Launch companies but the you need to reflash the smartbox to change the S/N with one you have updates.

no prevail. with all this frustration, I managed to obtain
10 friends to group together.

Clone or not clone the sw it is the same.
You need to make or pay for this to download by yourself or you need someone ( for a good price ) to make a crack ( I mean to give you updates ) for your serial.
So you need just a good suplier for this.
The price is cheap and you can have new softweras versions for your tool.

S/N is in smartbox. You can use it with that two PDA's
Do you know the S/N of your smartbox?
If you don't is bettere to reflash with a good S/N and you'll make to work like this and of cpurse you'll have update too.

If serial numbers are the same just change TF cards - it should work etc
Or load older and newer soft to same car file see what works best

"Not good working from 2010"
In my update 2010 have folder GAG and data.Compare GAG folder with my-file FTD2XX.dll.
Unpack and copy "date" in SD card with your GAG and connect with cable!Your bluetooth can update.

My " Not good working is 2011 in display when check smartbox working " i just made correction, maybe dosent matter.

Anyway i open smartbox today and found "L1 coil" on mainboard forcebroken i think (dosent look burned and material on side cracked and one side disconnected) so i unwined and wine it back the coil to have somthing to solder on. Think i lose 4 ways around it.

Until now i can tell: without coil its working fine on my Opel astra h. (dident work good before)
Still not working on k-line i think.
When solder back coil stop working on astra-h.

I think i dident manage to fix coil like it shoud so freqeuncy is out of range or i got it shorted.
I messured it to 0.08 mm x 135 mm so will try do a new if i cant buy new.
Do you or anyone have any schematic part of smartbox ?

Way 12v-
16 pin OBD2-fuse F1-diode D1-L1-chip Maxim 5090.
Check resistance between pin 4,5 OBD(GND) and L1-19kom.
Check all diod.

I ment L1 on mainbord, i do better explanation.
Anyway checked 12v feed to 5090 regulator - ok
I got endless or more then 40 Mohm between OBD pin 4,5 and L1 coil on relayboard.
2 Diods showng lekage without disolder: D3 and Z5 on mainboard BTside.

Need help to find out how many, uH coil L1 shoud have on mainboard. I am missing my number on coil.
Olso where other end are hiding of L1 coil, typical under BT-card somewhere, i dident take off BT-card yet will first try with new coil and think it solves everything !
