Hi guys,

So i'm having trouble with my OpenBox (latest model).

I've updated the firmware using the latest firmware on ******** (Tell me if this is wrong and where to find the correct one!?), I then followed Shady's guide found on here to install and then used CWaite's latest channel list too.

I am connected to the internet via WiFi, says it's all working.

Now when I go on any $ channel, it says scrambled, I can only get freeview channels. Also worth noting, I get all the channel info, what program is on and timings and everything yet I can't actually watch them. What's the problem?

Any light shone would be great!

Thanks.

You do understand that updating your firmware and channel list won't de scramble your $ channels???

If you do understand this, then when you updated the firmware it must have deleted something important.

No I didn't back up but it was doing the same thing before the install, nothing has changed.

I don't understand, does this mean it will never work?

When I first got the box it worked for like a day or two just from connecting to the Internet.. After that I could never load any Scrambled channels (without touching a setting!) so we gave up with it. That was about a month ago so decided to google the problem to try and fix it, which led me to your forum today.

Figured it might need updating so I've tried that and still no joy. I don't get why it worked to begin with and then never again?

Cheers

You need to add something "extra" to your box to receive the $ channels which expires after a set amount of time & which you need to pay for, but it's something we cannot discuss on here due to forum rules.

Correct....

i'm guessing the box came fully loaded ...............Plug & Play......?
If so you need to contact the person you got the box from & tell them what you've done.....re flashed the firmware without backing it up... maybe they will help maybe not........

We cannot help because you reset the box & deleted the Magic bit that opens the $ channels.........
