HI DK i have a merc w203 with the small EIS lost all keys. tried to make new key but new key only unlock steering but cannot crank the car and dashboard not comming on. car went to other guy b4 comming to me. need help

with tools you use make key? ak400?

Steering unlock but ignition not coming
Have you scan the car also

Is the mileage showing on dash
Scan the car and be sure and know what you are up to
Since you are not the first work in on the Eis.

The first guy uses AK500 and i also use ak500. yes after i program car displays milage. NO need for me to run diagnostics coz am 150% sure car was moving and guy lost key, so everything is key related

it happend to me on a rover 75 diesel (the electronics is all bmw) that came with a bad key. i made a new key , no errors but the car wasn't cranking, it turned out it the car had a second fault a bad starter motor . my suggestion is to check the starter motor with a test lamp and see if you have 12V when you turn the key.
