Having gotten on with Smelecom Customer Service and linking up through Team Viewer, reloading everything and reactivating, I am no longer prompted to renew within 2 days every time. Maybe it's just me, but if you do the update 01.16.2017 and have problems, that was my solution.

Has anyone had their DSP3 completely glitch out on them? I just turned mine on to find a white screen with the top part pixilated and completely non functional. Won't pc link to my computer either. Just worked last night with a customer service link to Smelecom last night too. I think I'd stay away from the most recent update. And I think I'm ~~~~ed for this months appointments....

Just to follow up as an experiment in customer service. I have sent my non functional DSP3 to Smelecom for repair. FedEx (at $130 US) took 2 days and 8 hours, which is amazing. I have yet to hear from Smelecom, but will keep a log of how things turn out. As an aside, I have had my DSP3 apart before for the PCB board upgrade. If you ever get the idea to open yours up, do not separate the top and bottom boards. I noticed two "tether lines"as anti tampering measures. If you do, you need to remove the touch screen first, then unsolder the tether points, before separating the boards.This would only be reasonably plausible if you had a burnt capacitor or the main board fuse blew and you possess significant electronics knowledge.

In which case smelecom might refuse to repair your tool and say you tried to tamper with it

Smelecom always responds via Skype, but not with much information. Given, If you have a dump file, they can look at it or solve a technical issue, but If you have a specific vehicle question, you're out of luck. This forum (!) is far more educational and helpful in all vehicle matters. At one point, the former USA Smelecom representative, Kenneth Rose, claimed to offer additional support... that was a joke. I'm glad he's gone.

No it aint I've messed with some Benz and many require the EZS/EIS to be programmed, what i'm asking is which models, years cars etc canbe or have been done with out adding a filter etc.and if there are any special procedures like engine running, lights on etc.

People they Did new polo (according Posts on DK) i never had succes on a polo.
All dashes where vdo ofcourse both 2013.

To follow up on my customer service experience with a dead DSP3: Smelecom is taking care of me. Given, I did airmail my unit back to them the day before the Chinese Spring Festival (a week long holiday), but that aside they only took 3 business days to repair my unit and quote my return shipping ($50 USD). Pretty good if you ask me. No hassle and fast turnaround for the cost of shipping to and from.

It's not my expertise, but they do list the W205 as OBD accessible. They list filters for the W204, which I presume to be similar to the W205. If one had an early (2013) W205, I'd assume it to be the same as a W204. I have no hands on though, very few MB here.

Hello good people. I have a slightly off topic question. I feel it is nearing time to do a full OBD update for my DSP3. It is my assumption that every 3 years, one would benefit from having all fresh OBD options. I have sent a query to Smelecom for pricing, etc and we'll see what happens there.

My question is, in your experience, was it wiser to simply sell your slightly outdated tool and purchase the newest version (with current updates), simply purchase the updates or purchase a supplemental tool platform to "fill the gap" that Smelecom does not cover?

In that regard, a second question, in your opinion: what tool compliments your Smelecom product the best?

I should note that I am in the USA, provide mobile service, and see OBD programming as the most profitable aspect of my business. Thank you all for reading!

I have done this before, but it boggles my mind that it's same exact as other fusion and MKZ and because it's hybrid it won't work.

It seems to work only if we remove the eeprom. We have tried several 13-16 accords by using a pinout in the back and reading the eeprom in-circuit with a dspIII+ and it corrupts the dump. Problem is to get to the chip.. those steppers are tough.

Every time we try to read one the dash is dead. Bad dump using rear pinout. I will say that the USA version 2013-2016 accord is a different board than what smelecom has on their programmer. The picture is different. It is still a 93C76 but the pic is different.

We just fried our FIFTH 2013-2015 Honda Accord by using the rear pinout (pic on Smelly dsp+). Cut the circuits as pictured. Bad dump each time and when trying to put a good file on bring it back to original it gives an error. We have sent SEVERAL emails to smelly about this but no reply.

We just fried our FIFTH 2013-2015 Honda Accord by using the rear pinout (pic on Smelly dsp+). Cut the circuits as pictured. Bad dump each time and when trying to put a good file on bring it back to original it gives an error. We have sent SEVERAL emails to smelly about this but no reply.

Same here but I've only done one, clean contacts with alcohol, then put small amount of flux, use fresh wire maybe kynar that is freshly tinned. Watch for shorts, wire contact, solder bridge where 3 wires go next to eachother!

OK, I have installed PC-LINK soft to my PC, but I cannot connect my PC with SMELECOM machine. Cannot instal driver succesfully, I have tried 32bit and also 64bit, but always with error. Can somebody help with driver instalation for PC LINK?

So I got my unit brand new from Smelecom. I ran the self test with the adapter which it passed. But when I did the EEProm adapter and connected it properly. It gave me a series of errors. Literally got the unit yesterday. Contacting them between 8pm-5am EST is a problem since I have to take this device home to talk to them it seems.
