Hello,

I am trying to install sss progman v32 on a PC but I receive a hardware error shortly at the beginning of the instalation. Can somebody point me in the right direction? I am just guessing that some configuration in the bios is not ok. Anyway, my PC in an Athlon XP 2400+ with s3 trio vid card. Everything else in onboard.

Are you trying to install on IBM laptop or just a normal Desktop?

dont forget to replace HWver.dll again in windows/system32 after installing winxp base

With the replace of that file now it's working. I have never thought that this solution could work. Althought, I had another problem but it's ok for now. I had to replace my harddrive because it was only 40G to a bigger one.

I am still receiving an error... :( When the instalation is finished, and the PC has dopped the dvd from the drive the computer is not responding. I mean the mouse and the keyboard is working but the instalation is stopped. See the picture below. Tell me what do you think.

After the base instalation with the help of a linux live cd I copied in c:/windows/system32 the Hwver file. After this the instalation has began. My harddrive is 160GB. I dont know nothing about the drivers, cause the instalation is fully automatic (no vmware)

Ps. I have 3 dvd-s: 1-base; 2-disk 2; 3-disk 3

How much memory do I need? I tried with 256MB, now I am triing with 1G.

Memory doesnt mather.

You need to change the startup manager in registry.
you must use explorer so you can get in Device manager.

Do you have ERD commander ?? with this tool you can edit the registry of winxp 3.1 base.

Are there any specific configurations in the PC regarding the harddrive and the DVDROM? I have 1 ide cable, the DVDROM is the master and my harddrive is the slave. I have made some changes and after the base instalation the system drops the first DVD and the system is restarting. After this I can do nothing because the system is not recognizing the first dvd.

Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Use ERD commander to edit registry.
go to MICROSOFT / WINDOWS NT / CURRENT VERSION / WINLOGON
in LOCAL MACHINE

and change the SHELL value in "explorer.exe"
pls save or write down the old value!!!!!!!!!!!!

restart pc.
Now you will see normal windows GUI
log in as Administrator
pass: ++Xs4Progman
Disabable Progman AOS services
now you can enter device manager to install all hardware drivers.

after installing drivers enable Progman AOS services and change registry value same as before to start progmaninstallation.

Under Administrator I see that there are no network protocols specified. Do I need TCP/IP? If I will configure the IP address from the command line, or with an application will it work?

I finished with the instalation but Progman can't use the OPS. Under Administration the OPS is available. There is also ping with it. But when I am to create a new session it's said "Could not established a connection" and there are displayed an error number. Althought, the The yellow head is working fine. It's making me crazy. :(
Could you please tell me what to do? What to check?

i Bet its a chinese OPS
I repaired several OPS heads till now.
All chinese have CPU issues.

Yeah, it's chinese OPS. So what am I suppose to do now? Did you mean cpu isssue from the PC? Because it's an AMD XP. Should I install SSS to another PC? Tell me what to do.

In the meanwhile I tested the OPS on another server and it's working. So the prom is in my PC. I am only guessing that something is missing or something is malfunctioning regarding the network.

Well, put it in the iso file and burn it then you can check it yourself. If the PC returns with hardware error then it's not good.

Before starting please read this topic from the beginning. Because it is written down the steps and it is not necessary to repeat. Take the first dvd and overwrite with that dll. Then it should work. You have to use all of you're computer skills to succeed :) But it's not very complicated.

i have a problem with SSS and VMware. I replace the HWVer.dll on my DVD, but after the restart the system coming up with a Blue screen an Hardware issue. I don?t understand this, because i think vmware is a single instance?

Ok, I have tested also with an IDE-DVDRom and also with a DVD-ROM on usb. I receive the same error message. Now I'm stuck. If somebody knows a solution please post.

Hi Bro,

My company has bought a SSS desktop many years ago. In these days I discover the display card was fail and I replace a new display card.

After that when I start the computer, I saw a Big "WRONG HARDWARE" on the monitor.

And I try to use my original problem display card back to the system; the "WRONG HARDWARE" is still on the monitor.

Does any method to solve this problem?

Its only a guess but, trie to log in sss, stop the service of sss and trie to install the driver for youre display card.

Nope, sss is running on windows. You have to install to a separate PC. It requires 4 partitions.

Colleagues, once again I welcome! I have established Progman V32, has changed mark for Rolls-Royce. The car sees, blocks reads. But at attempt to program the car, stops on "Measures plan is being determind" So, what's the problem?
P.S. I'm using USB adapter for programing

First disable Rolls Royce support. Secondly, use power supplies, sometimes you need 2 :) Third use a real OPS :) because sometimes you need to connect MOST.

Thanks. Do you mean online updating or jetstream? I'm already using power supply. And what about OPS - I will disagree. At programing RR the optics is not used in general! So the need in OPS is not present.

Hi, i?m going to install DIS AND SSS/Progman on a T30
Dis is already running may i have a problem with SSS
I know there are installations running with Dos4grub manager, so i?ll test osl2000, but i dont know how many Harddiskspace is recommended for SSS so did anyone know:
- diskspace for SSS?
- install the Bootmanager first?
- which system the GT1 use?
- is there a Bootmanager in SSS installation?

There was a recovery version of this system, but it?s gone!?

All I know that SSS must be installed from DVD-s. Anyway the partitions after the installation looks like this:
1. sss_progman_system c:/ 4GB
2. sss_progman_appl d:/ 34GB
3. sss_progman_install e:/ 34GB
4. sss_progman_service f:/ 1GB

Progman also are can use of GT1 for programming.
The boot manager is a generic Windows xp boot manager.

Progman will recognize whatever interface is plugged into it. If you have an Ethernet network, you can run multiple sessions with multiple interfaces. Otherwise, you are restricted to whats plugged into the computer.
E92 on SSS can use either OPS or ICOM.

yes, because in youre car is newer software then in SSS. Youre SSS is outdated. For this the only choise is to use ISIS :)

you're wrong, I like to see well and precise answers not assumptions. SSS v32 was used until 2008 and that error has nothing to do with being oldm if the car had an update with ISIS it would of said outdated after the messuring plan.

I also have several changes iso, but I do not know what is good for me e91.Az iso changes, the problem is that the voltage falls off Progman 12v 40A charger and I use it. Where can I find a good iso changes?

I'm at work right now and don't have the file on my pc, I remember that I modified changes by xdrive.iso to show above 14V, your interface is not an intelligent tool like OPS/OPPS that can messure voltage that's why the voltage is coded in changes.iso to show exactly what it needs to work.

The dll. files have been replaced. 80GB HDD.The driver of a multimedia video and processor driver did not install wm software tools. Win 7 on my computer ( HP Pavilion dv7 1166eg ) and HP has not issued an XP driver for it. Could this be the problem?
