What tools are you going to use to begin with?? They are pricey and procedure is far from risk free.
Second, the FEM modules differ from one another and also software version is important.
If you bought brand new then you don't have to transfer anything.
My 2 cents.

you need a friend at least vvdi2 autohex or bmw explorer to do this work without these tools you must order a new fem / bdc to the distributor and program with ista or esys
