my friend,i recomand to use 17.8 version. 18.2 have bug,and when you use autoscan remove bootloader from MCU,and not have registration.after this need make reflash wuth external programmer.

you have raison,not a bug.but now author of thread have one cable unregistred/deactived.you can explain this?

The thread's author wanted soft 18.2.0 EN or 18.2.1 and activators so I made it available to him. I had a problem once:
1) no cable detection after using 16.8.3 EN with other software (17.1.0)
2) unregistered version.
I programmed Atmega again in the cable via USB (V 7.2) and it works for me.

Maybe the antivirus is enabled and the loader removed?

If there is no Atmega 162, maybe he should uninstall vcds, clean the laptop and do everything again.
