I'd like to get this rom file modified to reset the keys to virgin mode. I haven't been able to figure it out. Can anyone help with it?

After a lot of work. I think this is the correct virgin rom for this model of 2001-2003 Toyota RAV4

Is the problem solved ?

The EMU doesn't go into programming mode (security light on solid) so I'm still unable to reset the keys. I thought I had it solved, but I don't know why the EMU won't got into the correct mode. (Note with another EMU and key I was able to get it the car's key sensor to work fine and deactivate the IMMO, so the car should read the key properly).

I followed these steps after flashing the IC and verifying it programmed correctly:

- Close all doors and windows.
- Lock the driver side door with the key (only driver door locks because there's a problem with the actuators).
- Unlock the driver side door with the key (again only driver door unlocks due to actuator problem).
- Briefly insert any key into ignition lock cylinder and remove immediately. The security light should
illuminate and remain on. (It doesn't for some reason - it continues to blink)
- Insert first transponder key into ignition lock cylinder for registration DO NOT TURN ON. The security
light should remain on for 3-5 seconds then go off. After security light goes off remove first key from
ignition.
- If you are done proceed to step 6 below. If you want to add another key proceed to 2 steps above with next key.
- Press brake pedal 5 times to exit programming mode.

Here are a immo off and what I think a virgin file for that car would look like.

Thanks those roms are very different from what I was expecting. I'll give them a try over the weekend once I'm done working on the transmission and I'll report back the results.

I tested the ...Rav4_OFF.bin file on the ECU however the security light still blinks as if it is not disarmed. Unfortunately I still have the transmission apart (waiting for parts) so i can not attempt to start it right now. Is it normal for an IMMO OFF rom on the Toyota to leave the security LED blinking? Or is there still a problem?

None of those ROMs seem to work. I've repaired the transmission but I still am unable to start the car due to the IMMO. Both of those roms seem to have no effect and the security light continues to blink. It's driving me mad. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Hello,
Have you remove the immobilizer Fuse in the fuse box in the engine Bay. If not see into the attachment here

1) Program the eeprom with the file attached
2) Remove the immobilizer fuse as indicated on the picture
3) Start the car

Good Luck

I've pulled that fuse (actually a jumper connection) before and the blinking security light remained. However your rom was a little different so I just now programmed that, pulled the jumper that is in the position you indicated and then reapplied battery power. i toggled the drivers side door lock but the security light is still blinking and the car fails to fire while turning over. Nothing seems to stop that light from blinking.

If the car is a 2002, the only way to stop that light blinking is to have immo deactivated or cut the wire, because it's connected directly to the ecu. Here is your original file, modded.

The IMMO still isn't shutting off. i can see there's no ignition signals on the coils. I have another ECU that I borrowed briefly with the key. I swapped in the ECU and held the key up while turning the valet key and was able to disarm the immo and start the car. i'm pretty sure the problem is strictly related to the IMMO.

You're having quite a time of it. I've done a few of those cars in the past couple years, practically all of them for transmission builders needing to also change ecu, but have never come across a problem quite like this. What codes are you getting? Tried leaving the transponder amplifier unplugged? Coils not firing? Toyota immo disables coils, in addition to injectors? Keep in mind the immo function is entirely within the ECU. :)

Yes it's ridiculous the time I've wasted on this 2002. With your rom file techstream doesn't identify the model, year or engine type. It also won't let me talk to the immobilizer or ecu during the "Health Check". When I put the original code (original_rav2.rom) back into the ECU the car's info populates and I can again talk to to the ECU and IMMO. Unfortunately techstream requires a passcode to reset the immo keys, so I'm at the point of paying for some passcodes to see if that works.

I only get the code for "Wrong key used" - B something which I have forgotten. I have not tried unplugging the transponder amp. When I first started working on this car the owner gave me the key and after a lot of testing I realized either the chip in the key was fried or it was a valet key. So I ordered a chip key and had it cut and I'm trying to either disable the immo or program it as the master key.

I found if the IMMO was disabling the engine there were no coil sparks or signals to the injectors. The fuel pump does fire up though, contrary to some things I read on the internet about it.

Hello,
If the eeprom is well programmed, the fuse pulled out, and the security light is still Blinking, Probably the ECU has a problem even though MIL is ON.Try another ECU and see

Does the security light stop flashing when you remove the security box? And start flashing once you plug it back in? Do you have a way to read the key data and we can add it straight to dump? Also have you checked the dump after trying resync procedure with key to see if it has changed? Once virgin immobox is plugged back in the procedure is as follows:
1.Insert first key to be programmed, light will stay on for a couple of seconds then extinguish. 2. Repeat step for additional keys 3. Press brake pedal 5 times within 15 seconds to exit procedure. Then test, check eeprom data and report.
