nissan note 2010 - no remote central locking suddenly

hi, had a customer today call me out

remote central locking stopped working,
he has spare remote key which has never been used - customer had car from new - also not working.

1. i tried frequency output both remotes - fine
2. i tried diagnostics on bcm unit - no fault codes
3. i tried battery disconnect and pulled all the fuses in the interior box where obd socket is
4. central locking button functions inside the car fine


what coud this be? it was all of a sudden, customer came out from shop and remote didnt work.

Recently I had the same problem with Qashqai 2008 - Still not sorted


Usually problem is faulty central lock on drivers door

Nissan cars Note/Qashqai has issue with remotes suddenly stopped working rumours you will need a new control unit!!!

Yes i told customer to take it to Nissan as i suspected issue with BCM,, so sounds like my advice was right.

also caused by faulty ignition , when car doesnt see ignition is fully switched off . had this on a 2011 quashqai , remote not working and wouldnt allow me into programming mode , after new ignition all was fine. the give away was no warning beep when key in ignition and door opened .

Disconnect plug from switch that tell you key is in ignition and remote should work again.

I tried this on Qashqai without success


Today I conected autocom to Note (on this car remote work OK) and in BCM I saw that has options to check remote


then I connected auttocom to Qashqai and there no conection with BCM


So in this case Super Jumbe maybe is right


Can I directly swap the BSM with second hand or must be virgin and coded?
