I have donwloaded and tested the firmware-s but pay attention that the majority is not working. You can seriously damage youre car. You need to download and open the image with daemoon tools to see it is valid. If not do not bother. Only the v20.1 is working. I hope you will appreciate these informations.

u right since year 2000 in bmw was builded mk3 sys with 16:9 screen

Got a 2001 X5, the sat nav in there is the cd version but does not work, i am wanting to know if the cd unit can be taken out and replaced with the newer dvd unit and will everything work ok (eg the screen?)

Will the v17 cd fix a dead mk3 with corrupt boot files?

I think you need to install the key CD first and then the navigation software after.
Have tried this with a MKIV nav computer and it worked fine.
