2007 Mini Cooper ESL/ELV program out

Hello guys,

I have a 2007 Mini Cooper with ELV issues. Instead of diving in to replace the ELV can I program it out? I'm not sure what controls the ELV, would it be the CAS? If that's the case I can just post a dump of that here for someone who knows how to program that out.

What exactly is the issue. Did you try resetting the counter?

The red steering lock is on in the display. I haven't tried resetting the counter. How would I go about that? We've replaced a lot of them in the past and just assumed bad ESL and would rather try to code out if possible.

Hi,

I have the same situation: CAS has the error of ESL, but sometimes has an internal error too.

Car don´t start; sometimes starts, but maybe after 20/30 attempts.
I removed ESL and I tried with an emulator (I reset the counter), is the same behaviour.
I tried with another emulator, is the same behaviour.

After, I tried with AVDI change the coding of CAS, and changed configuration of ELV. After this, emulators works once, after fails again.

So... my questions:
1) To use emulators, for example Julie, is necessary some coding/programming?
2) Can be the CAS module damaged? Is possible read some dump of CAS module and someone check if ok?
