Hi, I am reasearching the topic of convertion speedo to the miles insted of km,
The european model dashboard is locked to the km/h and unable to switch to ml, generally you can press reset on the Trip A and it would switch to the ml,
My assumption if I desolder the chip, it should be 8smd 93c56 and write it with one of the dumps available on the forum that is from UK bike it shoud then behave as UK dashboard

Was wondering if anyone attempted this before?

The memory chip has markings S 93C56BD VH6523, I am thinking to order another 93C56B and program it just in case I make mistake

No need to buy a new eeprom, just save your original data.
and then write another dumps in miles, it will be ok.
in my memory i read/write this dash with pinout onboard. The eeprom should be under the lcd.

eeprom location is next to connector:

Success, it did worked, flashing UK dump into the EU km only bike, was able to switch to km -> miles and back from buttons. Only one think left is to write original milage 6112ml, is there is a calculator app I can use?
I have flashed this one from 2010 cbr600rr

I have this motorcycle. I cannot specifically talk about the operation you describe on this motorcycle because I never tried to put a dump that allows kph to mph and vice versa. But if I did it on a suzuki bandit and I can confirm that with a dump of a Uk motorcycle your dash will respond to the interchange from mph to kph and vice versa.
Please hit the "thank botom".
Cheers
