Hi,
I Have this same board and could not get it to work neither on usb nor on Bluetooth. I found that the FTDI chip is fake because it does not sotre the settings with Mprog 3.5 and it does not have EEprom inside as Mprog reported that no EEPROM found.
When plugged to usb it is installed as the standard FTDI driver as serial prot and not as VCI diagnostic. The driver from cd is not accepted (because it is fake ftdi with fake serial number A50285BI)
So I gave up and tried to use bluetooth because i think it will work but it did not work. The computer detected the device Autocom CDP+ BT 100953 and the pairing is ok with pin 0000, but when I try to connect to the car it says the same as with usb: the vehicle is not reponding and relay are clicking with Lights changes from blue to green and it take more than a minute to get error not responding.
3rd try: I removed the FTDI232RL from the bord hoping that may be there is a short or someting but the same relay clicking and no response.
Any advices please.
Thanks

I hope to have the one in the pictures some time next week. I can swap with real ftdi chip and see what happens.

Honest advice is buy a proper one. I would not get much hopes for this one to work.

Yes, I hope it will work with real FTDI chip on usb. But the problem is that mine is not working on Bluetooth too with same behavior. Is the Bluetooth circuit independant from USB circuit? If yes .. why it does not work on bluetooth.?
Thanks

You CAN NOT update firmware through bluetooth. If we cant access through usb to see if we can upgrade then bluetooth will give us less lol

Hey guys it has come to my attention that the chinese are getting cheaper again!!!

I had a customers VCI before xmas and now another guy with the same VCI have problems.

First one the Firmware would neither upgrade or downgrade!!! Reflashed the ftdi chip from a good one also no good.

Second one would not respond when installing driver. Starts to install then fails when VCI is plugged in for the serial port driver.

THESE ALSO ONLY HAVE A HALF SIZED PCB WITH JUST 12 RELAYS AND NOT 20

REMEMBER TO CHECK PICTURES BEFORE YOU BUY!!!

Hello, I have 2 vci and I would like you to tell me if they are good or defective

Potential fix for those of you with one of these vci's

Use stlink ( like this: https://www.easytronics.com.br/st-link-v2 )

With STM32CubeProgrammer write any bin version, them write eOBD_VCI+.hex and OBD_VCI+.hex.

You can use bin files from here: https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/sh...not-FOUND) (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/382781-HOW-TO-REPAIR-AUTOCOM-CDP-(FIRMWARE-UPGRADE-VCI-not-FOUND))

This is how I upgraded my DS150e.

Be happy.

Thats just an example board of what to do with these new ones.

Procedure to reprogram the chip manually that will not update via usb.

sidmoraes did this procedure on the new vci and he got it updated.

Hi,

Wow version 5.00.3 does the trick.

Other versions don't.

Can someone tell me if my VCI is any good or bad, it works fine for my use, I'm only a diy'er and in the 18 months or so since I have bought it it has served me very well, the firmware updated just fine, and thanks to crouchinggerbil (https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/member.php/718176-crouchinggerbil) I'm running Autocom 2017 v3, and it has done all I have needed. Just curious to known if what I got is any good.

Thanks in advance!

It is good for the 17R3 and previous. These are really based on old CDP and not the new CDP+

They still work on 20/21 but you will not be able to go higher than 1622 firmware.

And it will not work on everything like it does on the single pcb.

Currently we are at 3201 firmware, that will not work on dual pcb.

Here is what you need to see/have on good single pcb.

https://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/917940-DS150-good-quality-single-board-required-components

The v3 dual boards are usually good, v8 & v9 not so good and they are missing the 9241 chip. Look on back side of the board to see them.
