you will need some sort of key programmer to read it off the vehicle, or program a new remote both can be done by an mvp, t300 etc forgot to say you dont get rover lead with them from china but the pin outs of lead have been posted on this forum

use another remote?

1)look in the handbook to see if you already have the security card or if someone has written it in
2)ring your local dealer and buy it from him
3)ask someone with a T4 to read it or set it to a number you remember.

there are im*o off solutions about for some rovers
autodiagnos reads out rubbish, do not believe it
an ecu with security module and keys off ebay, I paid ?30 delivered

The eka code is on a card in the owners pack. If it is missing like mine is, see pic, then contact => ECU REPAIRS / ECU DECODES (http://www.ecuclinic.com) they will rent you what you need to code a new fob.

to code ecu on rover using t300 use normal obd lead,(110B). done by going into EMS special functions.

to program remotes:
