Hi all,
Quick question,
I have bought OPCOM v5 real clone, before buying check everything possible to avoid getting fake clone (C5, D22, fake PIC, opcom v5 2013, one sided pcb, etc),
I had some issues with ftdi drivers, ocflash showed wrong checksum but I tried to update software from 1.59 to 1.45,
Now I have a communication with ftdi (can read it and flash etc),
Also I can flash a bootloader now without any issues,
The problem is that I can't flash firmware, do I really need external programmer even that I can flash the bootloader without any issues?
Did anyone saw this pcb with fake PIC?

How did you flash the bootloader? If it was or is gone than you need an external Programmer. Like the "PicKit3".
Thats the main purpose of an bootloader, it gets programmed once (mostly in factory) and than it can manage firmware update by usb. If bootloader is gone, nothing is there to put the firmware in.
I cant spot the programmer-ports on you pcb. On my pcb the portpins are net the usb port... 5 or 6 pins in a row. for ICSP programming

I would go with an external programmer but I dont understand why I am able to load the bootloader via USB but can't flash the firmware,

Eski sürüm 170 china clone idi. OC flash ile 1.60'a flaşladım. Araca bağladım ve şimdi çalışmıyor. Eski sürümü yeniden yükleyemiyorum.

The old version was 170 china clone. I flashed it to 1.60 with OC flash. I connected it to the vehicle and now it doesn't work. I cannot reinstall the old version.

The solution is simple. Buy another Opcom with a real PIC 18F458. By doing the update you simply killed your interface with a fake PIC.
Currently Chinese Opcoms with a real PIC 18F458 most often have FW 1.95.
But it is still a "Chinese lottery"
It is best to buy one that has in the description that it supports SW Opcom 200603a.
You also have to read the opinions of buyers.
Good luck.
