Clone ECU How do it

Hello, a friend has to replace the ecu that was damaged in an accident, with another second hand socket, he asked me if I make a clone, I have no experience in this, what exactly do I have to change to have a perfect clone? Just do the immo off? or is there something else? Thanks to those who want to give me some advice.

If the old ECU is readable with KTAG, you can make backup and write to another similar ECU via KTAG (on my BMW E60 EDC16C31 Bosch ECU is very easy)
If not readeable, try to read just the eeprom for immobiliser codes, miles, injector codes

Other hardware or ecu, i have no experience.

You need to tell what ECU you want clone.... There is no universal procedure, steps you need to take largely depends on car/ecu model, type and generation

that ecu has OTP sector, just writing old backup to new will not suffice, post full boot/bench read and ill clone it for you
