I think rom area can't be changed with any programmer. For read/write eeprom you can use whatever you want, I did it even with motorola cracker very long time ago.

read /write eeprom is easy with etl ,vvdi,etc..on carprog site mast by new 0d69j and he program prom area only one time if you send him file.definitly mey read prom area.

Now realise that you then need only read and send the file somewhere else. Use Xprog and set "Start address" and "Size" correctly !

start adress 000000 size 010000.

No, EPROM of HC705x32 (32KB) should reside at Start address 400 and Size 7A00 which is to set on Xprog but you may check with the datasheet again.
