Default BMW E63 645Ci Map Controlled thermostat

    Hi,

Can anyone help me find or change the map controller thermostat threshold temperature? I think stock temperature is around 114*C and I would like it closer to 90*C.

    Thanks!

There is no such map in BMW MEVD17 ecus. Coolant temperature depends on many many factors. Don't worry about it. If you push the car hard enough, it will get closer to your desired 90C on its own.

Hi GPTunes, This is Bosch ME9.2 ECU. The engine is running much too hot for my liking. Oil temp routinely exceeds 120*C which is just absurd.
I'm more then certain that this car has Map controlled thermostat in which you can alter setpoint of the heater that will allow thermostat to open earlier.

I was looking for this map very long and ended up with modified thermostat without heater. Then I delete DTC for E-Thermostat and now my car heating up to maximum 94C and got no errors. Another advantage of this modification is confidence, that my car won't go back to higher temps in case of heating element failure.

I can pay you if that's the issue
I rather not help anyone yet as I'm not so confident about my abilities. I'm currently learning all this stuff and as you probably know it takes a while... I will give back to the forum and it's users as soon as I will be able too. Also, I treated my last post more as a bump, not a demand...

I have got modified thermostats, with new bimetal element, calibrated to 88C or 85C or colder if you want. It has deleted heating element and behaves like old good classic thermostats.
