Default 2007 BMW F650GS odometer not storing milages - bad EEPROM?

    Hi community members.
I have a problem with my odometer. After battery change it reset the daily trip-meter and the overall odometer back to zero and now every time I turn off the bike it resets back to zero. During driving it does keep counting. I changed the two capacitors which didn’t help and I replaced the eeprom on the dashboard circuit board. Before I unsoldered the original eeprom I read out the information from it and copied those back to the new chip and soldered the new one back on the circuit board but it still doesn’t store the mileages after turning off the power. The clock keeps working therefor I know the board is getting the power it needs.

Anyways I think the information/code I got off the original eeprom are not right. Seems like some off the programming might be missing. Could anyone look at the eeprom file I attached here and tell if this is valid? And if the programming is not valid could someone send me working file? The current mileage should be at around 26250 miles (US model). I looked at some of the eeprom files uploaded here at the forum and the code is definitely different from what I have.

The bike is a 2007 BMW F650 GS, two sparks, US model. According to what I learned the dashboard has the firmware 5.28

Please let me know if you need more information and thanks for any help.

    Hi zxmiguel,
thanks for your answer. I made this photo before I swapped the EEPROM chip. If you can point me to the coil you suspect.

Hi again, I was able to re-write the code on the eeprom with the help of a bunch of dump files I found here in the forum. Took me a few hours starring at and comparing those files but at some point I figured what I need to do.

Thanks to al those, who previously uploaded those dump-files.

Hello. It would be very helpful if you could tell us where the problem was and what you had to fix to solve it. Thanks
