VAG BOSCH EDC16U1 - Strange situation, help.

Hi friends,
Does anyone has ever experienced a situation like.

- VAG EDC16U1 pd140 non dpf:
Guy bring me ecu for a egr off and stg1, i read via ktag BDM and write it same way "obviously"..
after that car start ok, runs fine about 30km and when stops it doesnt start anymore.

In the begining I tought it was some issue with the mod file, so I write back ori to check whats goin on but it keeps the same way.
even with ORI FLS i get control unit programming error on diag.
car starts, runs for some kms and when it stops doesn't start anymore (until a write file again)

anyone has a clue on this?

Maybe problem was after you opened the ecu, maybe you damaged the ecu when you open,

don't write ori file but choose recovery option. if you choose write, chk can mess it up, recovery doesn't count.

But if it was a chks issue shouldn't the simply don't start??

the strange thing is that the car behaves like a car with Tprot and bad mod.

start, all fine, run for awhile and when it's turned off simply won't start anymore until i write the file again.

well...after testing a "bit of everything" the issue is that the car makes changes on eeprom by itself.

already get a new ecu, flashed ktag backup and still happening the same.

- I write ori eeprom and flash -> car starts, everything fine, runs for awhile, when i stop and turn off it wont starts anymore.
after that if i read eeprom it has some changes on it

- If i write back just ori eeprom the scenario repeats (start, run, turn off, wont start anymore)..

any help on it??

I have the same situation on two edc16u34. Car runs some days and one day he cranks but not starting. Im sure its a checksum problem in my case. Rewriting only ori on flash not helped. I writed ori eeprom and moded flash with corrected cks. Runs ok but how long, i dont know. I hope will be fine now. We'l see...

I heard smillar situation from my friend but on edc17. He tried 2 other ecus and this same problem. Car was some electrical problem, after repair all working good. Maybe this info help you.

If someone have the same problem and know why this happening please share with us. Even with cloned replaciment ecu. Thanks!
