this is strange ,but i had the same problem , with rav 4 .

it all began with a fuel guage problem , and checking the fuse in the front , after car wont start .

i scan and get the same fault , i dont know what the owner did , i told him it an immo fault .

Inside the engine room fuse box there is a fuse that is NOT to be in. Recheck all the fuses inside this box and remove the one that should not be there, usually that position has no name . I am 100% sure this is your problem. I cannot exactly remember the fuse position but I have done this atleast 5 times before.

I guess you might be right because a guy asked me to send the fusebox for fixing, meanwhile i send you pix of fusebox maybe you may get the right fuse out for me

Got this somewhere:Immobilizer amplifier is in the steering column next to ignition switch it has five wires going to it. The transponder coil is around the ignition lock cylinder assembly on the steering column. If this code is being set in the computer system has to be there. There is one other option that you can try locate in the OBD2 two connector terminal TC and CG. Connect a jumper wire across these two terminals of the OBD2 connector. Leave the jumper wire installed for 30 minutes make sure they have a trickle charger on the battery so the battery does not go dead. In some cases this will force the communication link to reestablish between immobilizer amplifier and engine control computer. It is possible that this link got disrupted. If the chip in the key has gotten damaged or is bad it will also set this code. There's not much more I can give you on this let me know what you find.

could it be the fuse above the hazard fuse that mark "cut ."

@Cjawahir, I really don't know. i have a guy coming to check it out on Tuesday, hoping he fixes it though he insists its the fusebox that he's going to work on. I have two files i may send to you if you know much about immo files, i think one might be immo off for this car
