    Default VW LT35 key matching

    Hi all,

Having problems with key matching using VCDS for my 2003 VW LT35. Lost my only spare but have managed to get a new key cut fron the lock barrel so I can now turn on the ignition.

I purched a transponder chip from an online key fob supplier which was listed spdcifically for the LT35 and I have retrieved the immobilser code using VAG tacho but VCDS will not recognise the transponder using the immobiliser meas blocks (Field 3 is 0).

Am I missing a step or do I possibly have the wrong transponder chip?

tp23 is an id48 canbus chip used on many vw vehicles , but not on the lt35 on your year .
knowing the very basics of what chip for what vehicle and year is the basics we all must know or any good key distributors site will tell you the chip needed , as will programs like instacode , takes seconds to find out even on google , to not look up is deemed laziness at best.

the correct chip for the lt35 on your year is a temic id12 chip , though a silca T5 can be used .

Thank you for the correct chip information it is bery much apprecited.

Having learned how to pick the lock, read the wafers, hand cut a key blank, learn how to retrieve the immobiliser code and purchase what I expected to be the correct chip from a reputable key distributor site.....I apologise if asking for help with identifying the correct transponder chip comes across as being lazy!

You could a the transponper, directly in to the immobox data.

Immo of, is a option, if you fail to add keys.

using a more reputable distributors site may help you more in the future such as this one https://3dgroupuk.com/product/view/TP17

having a program like instacode will also give you the correct info .

LT35 never used id48 canbus chip , lt35 was produced between 1996 and 2006 using the temic 12 chip and YM15 key same as sprinter of those years that its based upon , following that from 2007 the crafter took over that utelised the id48 chip and the hu64 key.

most online sellers are not trade distributors and most dont list accurate data , in fact none are 100% accurate but some more so than others , a simple search of "what transponder chip for lt35" on google lists many times what the correct chip and key is from a host of suppliers , it doesnt get much easier than that to search befor you buy.

instacode is by far the best source to id correct key and chip needed but even this has errors and gaps in coverage .

im glad you can now complete this job , but would advise studying the basic knowledge for keys chips etc , cant work well without it in keys and is essential foundations to build upon.

    happy new year

pleasure , we do try to help but also try to educate new members to do all they can to help themselves , it may come across as abrasive , but its not the intention , theres so much to learn and the best way is to learn it from the bottom up , firm foundations are a must to build on , the old phrase of give a man a fish he can feed his family tonight , teach him to fish and guide him to the right tackle and he can feed his family every night.

    best of luck
