Default NEED HELP FOR EWS1 BMW E36 316i TO 1995

    Hello everyone ,
I am having a problem with an EWS1 on BMW E36 316i. The vehicle no longer started and the starting kit did not correspond to the car. So I found an ECU and tried to adapt it to the vehicle. I changed the VIN in the EWS and rekeyed with AVDI official. The ECU is 0261203276. The keys are invalid due to a rolling code "according to INPA". Is there anyone knowledgeable in this matter who can tell me what's wrong? I don't think there is an ISN on this model but just an authorization sent by the EWS "correct me if I'm wrong". To move the vehicle I set an Off but I have errors not normal by default "because it is a 318i file it seems to me". Thank you all and happy new year 2024

disconnect the ews, and connect the two thick pins in the ews connector.

Press Only thanks for a pass

    Hi Erkor,
Thank you very much for the interest.
The Off that you sent me I had and it gives me errors because it is not the right file.
Indeed it starts but it does not correspond exactly to this engine. This is why I want to align everything to have the original file.
    Thanks again.

Maybe the problem is the file from 318, as you suspect, you need to decode the vin from this ecu and you will know what engine it is for.
I found a file from 316, try this file and see if you get errors.
If the ews is original from this car, I would upload back the original file(to which the keys fit) that was before changing the vin number. Then upload immo off to the new ecu and check if there are no errors.
If there are no errors, then change the vin in the new ecu if you have to.

The problem is that I don't have the original parts. It was me who discovered that the series was not the correct one and the owner did not know it. To synchronize ews-dme, a priori I do not need it because the DME would not have an ISN for this year. I hope because INPA does not want to communicate with this ECU. I need to get the EWS to recognize the keys and apparently it will work because the EWS sends a frame and not an ISN. Then maybe I'm wrong! I have spent hours reading and studying this system but it is hard to find good information

I just watched the new one off and it's identical to the previous one.
On the other hand, the second file has just taught me where the ISN is located in the ECU file!!! So this ECU does have an ISN!
I have to look in my EWS but for me there is none! The ISN is on line 1FD0.

Are you sure about ISN 05DA in my EWS? because I just looked back in the file that was in the original ECU paired with the EWS and I found 1045 in it. This ECU no longer responds in diag, that's why I'm replacing it too.

    Isn ews????
you got the virgin file to ecu.
Is it possible to synchronize in this old car?
If possible, do it and read the ISN in the ECU after synchronization.

If you bought EWS and ECU without keys, changing the ISN alone will not solve the problem with mismatching keys.
That's why I gave you the immo off file, and virgin .

Look this file from DME on the car with no dialog in diag. I found 1045 ISN.

This would mean that before the ECU and key failure the ISN was different. What traffic!!!

once written in this eeprom of the ECU, it cannot be erased by the diag because this eeprom must be erased by infrared. It is therefore the EWS which must synchronize with the DME. The problem I am going to encounter is that the DME does not want to dialogue with INPA and despite all the suitcases I have, I have none that offers me synchronization for this year. This is why I would like to synchronize them on the table

If you are sure of the ISN of my EWS 05DA I will write it in my file! unless you can change the EWS one to 1045 to be sure
