Default Kess V2 - External exception EEFFACE

My Kess V2-clone doesn't want to work.

    FW: 5.017 SW:2.80 Win 10 64bit

I get the "EEFFACE"-error when selecting a vehicle (2006 Ford Focus ST) and when trying to close the program. To finally close it - I have to use Program Manager.

The original micro-sd was bad - so I replaced it with a 2GB Medion I had lying around. The update via KSuite seemed to work.

The red light is permanently on - therefore, I think it's not the firmware-update problem.

Still, I get the error again and again.

I tried various compatibility-modes, Win 7, Win 8, XP. None works.

    I installed, deleted and re-installed the driver. 10.009 - 10.011 - nope.

I deleted the .Net 2005 programs - nothing.

An exception in Windows-Antivirus for the whole folder is set.

The folder is located directly on C:\ .

I read a ton of stuff online - nothing helped so far. The sodering points look okay to me - but I'm no expert. The USB-cable can be bad, too - it sits quite losely in my Thinkpad.

I'm willing to get a new cable - afterwards, I think sending it back is my best option.

If anybody has an idea - it'd be really thankful.

    Default

    I think I solved it.

The modified KSuite 2.23 (kess-2.23-safe.ISO) I found somewhere here on DK seems to work.

After I finish my coffee - I give it a try.
