    Default Peugeot 206 no spark

Hi. I have a Peugeot 206 with no spark at the plugs. The engine code is HFX (ECU Magnetti Marelli IAW 48P2.70) & scan with DEC says that ECu is unlocked & there's 1 key programed.Injectors are being trigerred as upon checking with a noid light it flashes. I'm suspecting the ECU to be at fault as I can get into communication with the ECU to check for fault codes but could not clear as I get "communication error" . Any experience or advice concerning this problem would be much appreciated. Thanks .

    Hi

Remove the Engine ECU and you will see under the ECU there is a 15 pin relay it could be Black or Brown color replace it and see if you have any luck.

The cost for that relay is about ?15 from the dealers

    Good Luck

Hi. Many thanks for your reply & help.Coil & relay (brown) have been checked on another 206 & all work fine. I've checked triggering signal on 4 pin plug of ig coil with a led & signal is very poor. Regards .

If positive 12 V arrive to coil( from relay),the two poor signal you tested come from ECU.
This units normally damage, because defected coils.
You need to confirm too, if have a capacitor connected on coil plug to earth.

Hi to all.Problem still not resolved. i have checked all earths & all are ok. There's no capacitor connected to the coil (Bougicord) but I will have to check if MIL stays on of off upon cranking. Would like to know if it's ECU problem if someone knows how to repair or pinpoint the drivers supposed to feed the coil . Again thanks to all for the posts , replies & help. Regards.

if problem is ecu you may have to reload avirgin dumb to flash memory chip, and clean the injectors<from experience>.

Hi Mate, the HFX 206 engine is known to have Coil and ignitions problems, attached is the wiring between coil, ecu and BM34 (fuse box in engine bay).
    1135 : ignition coil
1320 : Engine ECU, so check fuse 15; and I advice you to pull up the coil, and plug in one or two sparks, and see when crancking if sparks appeared, of course the spark plug body must be connected to ground.
PS; if you find out that wiring is wrong, just specify me year, and DAm number (normally on the driver door entrance)
    Regards

Hi. I've seen the chip MAR9109PD as flasch14 stated but before attempting to change it, would try to see if it is possible to get new one . Thanks to all your replies & help. Cheers.
