Default Trnaponder chip Audi A4 B7 2006 Model

    Hi all,

Have been trying, without success so far!, to get a spare key coded for my car, an Audi A4 B7 2006 model.

Now, I understand that the transponder chip is either a TP08, which was used until 2005, my car is on an 05 plate, but the VIN gives a 06 model year. The newer alternative is the TP25, which is for the CAN cars.

I have tried both. A local firm has been trying to code it with a VAS5052 system. On both occasions with both different types of transponder chip it goes through the guided key adaptation, gets to the dash display saying L 1-2, to say that the first key is done (the original Audi Key), then when the next (new) key is put in the ignition, nothing happens, where it should move to L 2-2.

I'm pulling my hair out now, does anyone have any ideas?

    many thanks

Where did you get your spare key from ?
Because all keys from 11.2004 - 06.2008 are the same

    Default key...

    Hi,

the remote fobs are from ebay, and have been programmed to operate the central locking. They were taken apart and the transponder replaced. Tried the two types i thought it could have been, but have had no joy so far. I understand it's Megamos Crypto ID48, which is apparently a TP08 transponder chip on the earlier cars and the TP25 on the newer ones.

neither worked when trying to code them with the VAS5052.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

This is simple - you must prepare a dealer key from a TP25 transponder ( unfortunately, currently can only do so VAG Commander (?) )
or buy prepared into VIN key in audi service.
