First of all for ALL nds firmware variants go here http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/

    and i hope this helps
but it all depends on what you mean they dont work

HOW TO PATCH GAMES THAT HAVE A "SAVE DATA CANNOT BE ACCESSED" SCREEN
We will be using the Max Crass Method to patch this rom..
First of all, a pack containing the following is needed
    DSLazy
    Max Overload 1.2
    arm7.bin
    README.rtf
    MaxCrassMethod.zip
    http://l33t.spod.org/ratx/DS/dslazy/dslazy.zip ( Requires the .NET runtime )
Next, we will extract this to a convenient place (Desktop for instance)
Open DSLazy which is in the DSLazy folder..
Click the ... button and browse for your Name Of Rom Here.nds file.. Click OK
Click on NDS UNPACK and that will bring up a folder..
Next, we have to copy the arm7.bin file into this folder that has popped up.. Replace the one that is already there..
Next, we will click on NDS PACKER and choose a place to re-pack that folder (desktop again for example)
Now, we will open up the Max Overload 1.2 folder and then open the Max Overload patcher
Click on OPEN and find your Name Of Rom Here.nds file that you just replaced the arm7.bin file with (make sure you do not get these confused)
It will come up with something like this for example
    Arm9
    Rom offset: 00001000
    Entry addr: 02000700
    Ram addr: 04000000
    Rom size: 000CAS58
    Card read end not found
That is basically it, close all of these programs and copy the newly patched Name of Rom Here.nds file onto you flash cart..
It should work but I only have an r4.. And I can tell you that most games work on that..
I hope this guide has helped you guys out

    Default 1.25 already?

I am having serious problems with freezing with 1.18. I wonder if 1.25 will make a difference.

So I'm still a little foggy. If I have a R4 Revolution card, is the latest firmware that will work with it still 1.18?

Pulling my hair out, what little I have left. I got a R4 Card back before Christmas 08. Worked grand and still does.
In Feb 09 brother got one for his son - An R4 Upgrade for DS (ndsl/nds). At the time I assume I had a link to the relevant software, which I installed for hom and d/l'ed a number of ROMS. Gave it to the brother. Heard nothing more.
Earlier this week a Rom became available that I knew his son would be interested in. D/L'ed it. Brought it in on my R4 card and deleted some games on his card. Only then when I was talking to the young lad, did I find out that some of the original games I had given him weren't working.....so ........ I reformatted his R4, installed my R4 software + a game or 2 only to find out all I was getting was "loading" icon followed by a "red menu" icon. Both in the shape of a SD micro card.

Anyway the heel of the hunt I left my R4 with him and assumed all I had to do was reinstall the firmware that I thought I had at home, but it seems I have "misplaced/deleted" the file. I have d/l'ed the 1.18 kernel - no luck, have tried R4 III SDHC with no luck.

So hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction - possibly in the downloads there is something, but I'm running blind - don't even know what version was on his R4 to start with.

well i bought my r4 last summer...and it came with an link where i could download the firmware 1.21...games worked perfectly...with the exeption of those that had to be cracked first ^^

my friends also bought a r4 but they had a cd with firmware 1.18...i tried to install it and got stuck at the loading screen..so i think i got a fake r4 -.-
same with your bro i guess...so just try out firmware 1.24
or any other above 1.18...should work with his flashcard...atleast works with the mine

Hello, this is all new to me, I've just bought my son a DS and now trying to load stuff onto a R4 SDHC upgrade revolution. I assumed it was genuine, how do I know if it isn't? Do I just keep trying different software until I find one that works?
