    Default CATERPILLAR 3116

    Can any one tell me how to find info about valve and injector lash adjustment, because the plate on the valve cover is removed.

    Yes but i need injector lash which can be fount on the left lover corner on the data plate on the valve cover, but on my engine the data plate is removed so how to find measure for adjusting the injectors?

    Valve Lash Check (Stopped Engine) Inlet
    0.30 to 0.46 mm (0.012 to 0.018 inch) Exhaust
    0.56 to 0.72 mm (0.022 to 0.028 inch)
    Find engine serial no on the side of engine block .
    Use serial no to find injector timing in SIS .
    Put your engine serial no (for example 1CK ) and open specification button .

    But i have an other problem when i try to start sis 2006a a get error message Un able to locate sis data.

    Cat 3116....well I actually just had one come in that needed a cyl. head and camshaft. I must say I'm not a fan of the way injectors have to be set! I think the 2 cycle detroits were the way to go. At least with the new-style single screw racks.

    Yes the injectors are the same as the two stroke detroit engines. But if they are not adjusted correctly you will have a lot of black smoke, difficult to start, and no power at all.
    I think this is the worst engine by caterpillar.
