Question help with Peugeot 607 fans !!

    hi folks

the fan on my peugeot 607 2.2 Diesel is not coming on.. not even with the aircon being on..

thought the relays were bad.. changed both 35amp green ones (low and mid speed) and 45amp blue (high speed) but the fans are still not working..

checked the fan by using a direct feed and it comes on..

so the relays, fuse and the fan are ruled out...

that leaves the two resistors.. very hard to get to without taking the bumper off..

can anyone with Planet check or email me the wiring diagram for the fan or advice what should I check.. as Im not that good with auto diagrams..

    please please please help guys..

would have thought it may have a radfan switch in rad or maybe on stat housing, aircon fan you would need to switch controls on dash for it to work as its a different fan and has no bearing on engine temp.

I thought that too mate.. as switching on the aircon should turn the fan on but it doesnt.. checked with the diag and it was showing a circuit problem with the aircon so not sure its related.. but then, regardless of the aircon.. when the temperature reaches more than 97c the high speed fan should come on but it doesnt..

so please please please folks, any advice will be greatly appreciated..

does that model have 3 relays on front between the 2 fan motors.found this elsewhere.
the fans are on the same circuit as the esp/asr and the anti pollution system. Also if you can hear your high speed fan running then the problem could be an open circuit in your fan resistors, which are situated at the back of the front grill, just behind the peugeot badge.. there is one for high and one for low speed fan.. these resistors are open like a coil and get cruded with limescale and often break resulting in open circuit. The high speed fan should only come on when your aircon is on or when the low speed fan is not working.

yeah read that on my travels in another forum. Scotcruz is a wise man.. but my problem isnt related.. as the relays, fuse and fan are working fine..

i can not upload the schematic but i am going to explane how to test the fan first unplug the coolant tenperture sensor conector
then connect to the connector a variable resistor of 1K and turn the pot of the resistor to 150 ohm the temperture gauge will indicate 95 to 100 degres if the fan start so your coolant sensor is bad if not the two resistor of the fan are bad

mate, you are an absolute star... as Im hopless with electrics, please help me more to understand what I am doing..

how do I connect a variable resistor? (what is this)
Do I connect it to the sensor or the wiring that goes into the sensor?
Where is the temperature sensor located? what does it look like..

I didnt think this because, regardless of the temperature sensor being faulty, the fan should come on when the aircon is switched on??

    please advise me..

    i have uploaded the schematic
as i sed if you unplug the connector the fan will start if not
1- the one of the 4 relay as described in the schema is burned
2- the two resistor of the limitation of tshe speed of the fan in front of the bamper are broken or burned
36 the calculator ECM dont send the grownd signal(pin 8 hith fan speed, pin 25 and 83 low speed throw the two resistor)
3-the coolant temperture sensor is bad you can test that with a variable resistor pluged in place of the B24 in the connector

I'll try to help you with the schem you sent. The computer ECM 1320 controls relay by grounding relays 1509 and 1514 1508 through the pin calculator 8; 25 and 83 thus
1 - put the wire 1595 to ground and see if the fan motor is activated high speed even for the small wire speed number 1592

take a wire connected it to the the relay 1509 the pin 2 and then put the wire to ground engine running or ignition on the fan should initiate high-speed if not the relay is damaged
