    Default Avi Codec G264

I am trying to look at some CCTV footage. It is an avi file with codec G264.
Does anyone know of a utility that I could use to view it?

I should have said that I had tried VLC without any success.
It states that it does not support video format G264.

    have you tried divx player.

DivX Plus Codec Pack ? DivX codecs for Windows media player | DivX.com

if the above does not work try downloading the codec on its own and then try windows media player.

That is Geovision's proprietary H.264 codec. Google it and you should find it.

Thanks for the file. I have tried to open it but both winzip and winrar say the file is corrupt

most CCTV systems I've used, copy the playing software to the disc, at the same time as you copy the image you want.

Yes I agree with Dasteph VLC media is your best try. It will play all format or even download and install the plugins for you incase it does not have.
