    Default usb to k-line interface not found

    hi guys ive got a tacho vag 3.0.1 when i use the vagtaco software i keep getting "usb to k-line interface not found" ive re-installed drivers and software etc when i plug the lead in the laptop it detects it etc but nothing happening with the software any ideas guys? or is there any other software i can try this lead with?

    im using vista on laptop just in case you ask

    have you tried running in compatibility mode for xp?

    When looking in the folder were the application is, do you have a ini.test file?

    ive reinstalled everything once again and plugged the cable into my laptop and then windows detected it as ross tech hex to usb and installed the driver for it automatically but im still getting usb to kline interface not found in vagtacho application what am i doing wrong here?

    have i installed the wrong driver ? or is my lead faulty

    I think that you screwed your cable if you were trying to update to a newer version

    ive not updated anything mate? my cable is 3.0.1 ive not attempted an update sorry my problem is it keeps saying usb to k line interface not found is there ant other software i can try this with?

    Default vag tacho

    I have vag tacho 3.01 ( china clone ) and runs well on windows xp
    I think your problem is windows vista

    Looks like yourself giving the answer:
    If detected as ross tech hec usb cable, then it isn't the the Vag-tacho cable you connected7/bought.
    Yesterday we stood in front of the abyss. Today we'll move ahead.

    it was ok when i first bought it and tried it now everytime i plug it in even on different pc windows automatically detects it as a ross tech hec usb cable and wants to download the driver for ross tech even if i manually select the driver it wont accept any other

    Deinstall driver in windows confuration/system/hardware.
    Plug in interface
    And don't let windows do the install, but do it yourself.
    Install only the drivers that belong to your interface.

    Things go wrong when drivers (or interface's) use same Vid/Pid

    thanks mate ive tried all that as soon as i plug it in windows detects it as ross tech then wants to install drivers for ross tech even if i stiop it and try loading drivers manually its says its not the right ones as the tacho is getting detected as ross tech hex usb

    Hi, do you have a picture ? i think your interface is not vag tacho.

    Are you trying to use Vag-tacho with Vag-com interface??

    hi its definately a vag tacho 3.1 its even got a sticker on it saying but most of all when i first bought i used it worked perfect with vag tacho software too (not using it with vag com)
    anyhow not used it for a while now the damn thing keeps getting detected as ross tech-hex usb
