Default Elm 327 ver 1.5a . Please help!

Hy there! I just have receive a brand new ELM 327 ver 1.5a interface that I have buy from e-bay. The problem that I have is that I cannot connect with the interface using any program. I have try with the Digimoto, and FiatEcuScan and I get no response from the interface. Since I am using Windows 7, I think it?s a driver problem. Let me explain this. I have downloaded the drivers from here FTDI Chip Home Page and it installed me in Device Manager the follow tabs: Ports (Com and LPT)-USB Serial port ; and another tab named USB Serial Converter. Well..in the tab Ports, I have the driver installed on COM4 , but when I try to connect with the software nothing happends. So...please give me a solucion.

There is no elm327 1.5a. This probably is a china clone.
You have to find which version it really is. If it isn't at least 1.3a then it probably won't work with fiat ecu scan.
Use this http://www.scantool.net/scantool/dow.../5/stnterm.exe to check the version. The interface has to be connected to the car or you can supply it with 12V+ from some external power supply.

friend I only know that the best car program is the xp, the rest do not let the software work well, my advice is that you change back to xp, to touch me.
