    Default BMW ISTA PROBLEMS

I have to say after using bmw ISTA and ISTA/P i must say it's a crappy system. If the server goes down you can't do anything what a piece of junk. Does anyone else have a opinion on this

My opinion would be, that's a bit of a sweeping-generalisation... What hardware are you trying to run it on?

Here the update. I needed to program a 2011 BMW750il. I logged on to bmw tis and started ISTA/P. After it seen what type of car it is it's starts to download data for what i don't know but it does. It takes about 1 hour then it figures out what it needs to program and code. After that it downloads more data that takes atleast 5 hours to download. The files are only 750mb and since i am using high speed cable it should take about 7 minutes if running a bit slow then 15 to a 1/2 hour not 5 hours that is slower than dial up! so now you have about 6 to 7 hours in and if you need to program all modules that takes anywhere from 2 to 4 hours so since it takes so long i leave it over night to do it's thing. The next morning i see it errors on two modules so i start it up again and 8 hours later it onlys programs one of the two modules. So i start it again and leave it overnight the next morning it is still programming one of the module till about 2:30 in the afternoon when it failed to program. All the while i am really pissed off. so i start it again and leave it overnight again. In the morning it still programming one of the module so by the afternoon it completes the programming but fails to code both modules. Now it have to go to the dealer since i'm not going thru this again. BMW tech support tells me they know it's slow but nothing they can do about it. What a joke if you add up just the time it took to download the data it adds up to 15 to 18 hours alone. so for three days strait the car was on and the battery charger was on too. BMW created a system that will discourage anyone from using more than once so no matter what every BMW they sell is almost certain to bought to the Dealer for service and to make sure the older ones do to if any car is programed with ISTA/P needs ISTA/P to do any programming since you can't use your GT1 anymore for programming. I know i will never program a BMW again and tell every customer that come to the shop to never by a BMW. The funny thing is they all ready know this.

BMW took the scantool away from the Indi auto tech. who would pay 30 bucks to scan a car? no one cause it cost so much. If anyone has used this onlne scantool know it's so slow you would never use it again. That is what BMW has done on purpose so you will send every BMW to the dealer. I heard VW is making a similar tool to

Soon every car manufacturer will do the same then they will have every car owner by the balls and charge what ever they want. Then our crooked politicians will be saying how did this happen
