Renault Scenic Check ABS Braking Problem

I have a problem with my Grand scenic 05 1.5 DCI, Was going fine then all of a sudden displayed Check ABS Braking along with ABS Light, i have plugged in my OBD Reader but does'nt connect with the Fault, Hopefully just a bad sensor

think your obd reader is just for engine not abs.

When you IN-correct the milage like you normally do take the bulb out.

Sadly the guy was a total bore, otherwise other day was going to ask the 85 year old ex-train driver that was driving trains for 40 years! If they have an hour meter on them - just curisoty on if they ever become IN-correct!

99% wheel speed sensor bad.

Too much hassle to In correct a Loco, they store Hours for each throttle position idle to notch 8

No such thing as an 85 year old train driver due to their Healthy lifestyle away back then Alcoholism, Homeless, ect

If you have the schema of the braking system you can spin the wheels and pic up the signal with a DVO tester and compare the signal's .

alfabit has good advice, look for a split castlated ring or the cv boot clip has slipped over the ring.

I was thinking about buying renault clip would this pin point the faulty speed sensor

also anybody know best place to buy the Renault Clip seen a few on ebay UK sellers and chinese v105 for ?220

In this case the wheel sensors are inductive type, means according to wheel speed an AC voltage will be induced into the sensor and this will be transmitted to the control module. i f you don't have an oscillloscope you can check for voltage with DVM and compare readings of the four sensors to determine if one is faulty. Sometimes there is dirt between pick up and toothed wheel. otherwise you can check for continuity from pickup connecter to control module.

Worth buying, if you use it say 10 times - paid for it's self

Have known dealers to charge for each fault, say left sensor 40, right sensor flagged that 80 now ~~~~ off.

ring your local reno dealer and say

"Hello coont, got an espace with abs light on, how much to tell me what the fault is?"

They may ask questions, like does it smell of baby vomit, are you arrogent
does it have dog hairs inside etc etc.

Then say "If your computer says no faults, do i still have to pay?
