    Default help installing .rar files

Hi im having problems saving a tutorial of videos to my hard drive.

the software/tutorial comes in 2 .rar files (part 1 and part 2)

i treid to download them and they go straight into winrar.

when the files are in winrar they seem to unpack fine and then the folders and files are visable. but when i go to extract these files to a speciaifed folder......i seem to get problems.

one or two files/folders seem to extract fine, and i can see them in "my documents" but some of them dont extract, and they ask for "part2"

but i have already downloaded part 2, but even then i keep getting errors and messeges saying next volume is required and "you need to have next volume to continue extraction" etc

what am i doing wrong here?

can anybody help please this is driving me mad

    thanks

Maybe volume 2 is corrupt or its not named the same.

Check and rename the files exactly the same and then try to extract.

    thanks

i dont think it is becuase even the end of part1 starts to ask for part2 before it installs/extracts all the files.

then some of part2 extracts but then also starts to ask for other parts....

there are only 2 .rar files that i need to download (part 1 and part 2) but winrar just keeps throwing up errors

is there another program i can use to extract the .rar files?

thanks for the help mate, much appreciated.

Make sure you delete any of the first rar files or you will get the same results all the time.

I just select the rar files and right click extract to.

I never actually use the winrar window to extract. Works fine for me.

i have the .rar files saved in my documents, so what your saying is just right click the zipped file and extract it that way without opening win rar first?

i will give it a go if thats correct....

Sometimes if they both come as a download in one folder then extracting one will usually extract the other/others aswell into the one complete product(thats how games that are rar'ed in torrents work) were you just select to extract part1 and it extracts all the other rars also into one complete iso

    Try 7zip also..
