Default Power probe 3 & ECT2000 any body use these? are they worth for the price?

Hi as the title says are they worth for 300 quid (master kit including EC2000)

ECT2000 looks promising in youtube videos but would like a second opinion from someone who use it on real world .

Does this work same the "Cable tracker with tone generator (cheepo on ebay)" or any better.

    Thanka digi-dash,

I saw that link but its coming from US ,so there is a chance of additional duty charges .If I buy from UK then I can get the vat refunded so I am looking at 250 for a "power probe master kit.

Can't tell you now, there is a site for these, will try and remember it

there was a 2x thread about these, adam28 posted in it

If the OP decides to go for it they are about $250 USD in stores here. I am sure it can be sent as a gift to avoid duty.

Good lord VAT discount is 50 quid!! What is the VAT% up to now. I left the UK in the 80s. It was 12% or 15% then.

Almost forgot, not sure if they export to the UK, but I am sure I can find a place that does. If not we can
    get creative.

    BUMP SPAM.

Was working on a car earlier, had the Swiss Army Penknife with OBD Scanner plugged into the car, connected by the usb cable to the laptop, laptop plugged into the mains
so the Powerprobe III (TM) is connected to the car battery, and the probe ended up touching a poodle of water on the concrete floor, and started going "bip bip bip"

Bump ! I use one of these ,sometime it is a life saver , sometime put you in more trouble .In general it is good for open circuits finding ( with false indication sometimes ) , and not so good for finding shorts to ground .Now I am looking for a better one ,this is 2khz analogic device , maybe a 125 KHZ analog /digital would be better ?Not yet decided ,more research is needed ...
