    Default How to read/write E39 M62 ME5.2 ecu?

    Hello,

I want to read the image for chiptuning purposes and i?m searching for a tool like KWP2000 or digiflasher which supports the Bosch ecu 0261203474. Some tools can read other ecus with cc460 but i never found a flasher that can work with these ecu.

With GT1/SSS i can program the stock data but i want to write a modified map.

Or is there any other possibility to work with this ecu?

    Kind regards

    SP

Byteshooter, MPPS, Frieling... think there are a lot of tools that can read/write M5.2 from BMW

Byteshooter is too expensive for private use.

I?m not quite sure if MPPS will work.
The device list includes the E39 4,4 V8 M5.2 but the CC460 needs a programming voltage of 16V and i cant see any programming voltage on OBD-socket.

The 20 pin diagnosis socket provides a Programming voltage input and when GT1 is programming this ecu, i can measure the 16Volts on this line. When i disconnect this wire it?s not possible to programm the ecu with. In conclusion, the programming voltage is needed.

Does anyone have a pin assignment for the MPPS interface? I want to know if this interface provides a programming voltage pin as well. If yes i can make a custom interface to connect the requied wires.

Can anybody confirm that the programming of a CC460-ecu will work with MPPS?

    Thanks for your help.

Ivan. you're right MPPS is super cheap. I just ordered one and should have it in a few days. thanks for the tip!
This is from a 97 318i and original DME is missing. I'm trying to flash a bosch 0 261 203 668 with immo off.
Also, I only have the modules and no car. So hopefully I can powerup the DME and do it on the bench ok.

Hi people, sorry for bumping an old thread. Does MPPS read full flash of this ECU, or just 32kB like Galletto does? I only need to get ISN out of this unit because I ran into trouble with reading the EWS and my AK90 emptied the data of the 2D47J MCU. I am trying to save the EWS before ordering a new one from the dealer's.

MPPS tried and cannot read this ecu, only ID, but kess read only 128kb of me5.2.1 and with this data you cannot extract ISN, you need full 256kb read.

No bid deal there is vmax limiter inside the code.
In 474 search for 1C 90 20 99 34 C8, C8 is vmax. max soft codes limiter is (if i remember correct) 310km/h but there are several more limiters to pretend vmax like temperature limiters...
