Volvo Flash files for programming new ecm

Hello again everyone wondering if anyone can help me out and tell me how to get a flash file for volvo ecm. Does volvo save a copy of it or do you have to program all the features and parameters indavidually ? If anyone can tell me how to reprogram, get the flash file, and what program to use all help will be very appreciated. The volvo dealer told me friend they want $3000 so he got a used ecm and we just need to figure out how to flash it Thank you all for you help

You might be able to clone it, as far as flashing goes it is all done through VIDA on line, no flash DVD.

BTW, you have to post more info. Volvo makes cars, trucks and equipment.

it is a volvo ved12 465 hp truck please explain to me how can i clone it ? if i get the engine serial number and the vin# can the flash file be downloaded and posted on here ?

They have it set up just like International does. Everything is done over the internet. You have to send them the serial number of the truck then they send you the file but you never get to see the file it loads it into the ECM they control everthing you just push the buttons. Volvo does it with the icon send receive, International is similar with International Gets. So they have it locked up no way around that I know of.

I had the same problem with volvo fh 12 D12A380 engine, the old ecu was burned, the dealer wanted 5000eur to sell me old ecu but reprogrameed for the truck, so what i did was found second hand ecu from truck from the same year put it on the truck and it started without any problems. So if the truck is older without immobilizer you dont need to reprogram the ecu.

Even if you find file how you plan to reprogram it i dont see ecu programming in my vcads.I dont know if it is possible with devellopment mode. IS it Possible?

As explained to me, even with DevTool ECU programming impossible.
Since PTT does not contain flash files. They bought from a dealer.
Perhaps I was deceived.

absolutely right. reprog can be made only via dealer service station

if the dealer parter has intermediat storage and a real server connection can get that.....but will need to know where are contained the files....usually server download the files into ptt folder ...and after that to the module...very difficult ....to know if can be extracted or copied to other laptop.

They do not want that information to leak. I have never heard of this being done. I take ECMs into work and program them from time to time. But You never even see the file says send then receive you do not get to see a thing.

Not so easy with this files, they don't work on another laptop, this files suitable to exact laptop only...

reflashing ECU software which is downloaded to IS (intermediate storage) is easy to locate , but database is encrypted , and files are encrypted also.
Database contains dealer, client, user ID for who was downloaded.
I have seen software which allows you to modify IS soft, and can be used to another laptop , and to different ECU .

YOU CAN NOT REPROGRAM ANOTHER OLD ECU BECAUSE THE EEPROM IS COPYPROTECTED BUT YOU CAN REMOVE THE EEPROM AND CHANGE WHIT THE NEW ONE AND THEN REPROGRAM.AT WORK I TRIED TO REPROGRAM AN OLD ECU[FUNCTIONABLE] WHITH A NEW SOFT AND I BURNET THE ECU[EEPROM ERROR]

Hope the dealer down here knows what he is doing if not the guy is gonna have to buy a new ecm again I called and they told me they were not sure if it could be done but the owner of the truck called another dealer and they said they could do it no problem guess i will have to wait and see what happens dont think its gonna end good
