Default Astra G 1.7 DTI strangest thing you ever see

    Story goes like this:
Car came to my workshop with starting fault. Don't want to start or starts for 2-5 sec. and then cutts off.
I put op-com and there are this errors
    P0251 and P1651.
I erase errors and car starts without problem and working. While engine is running I read error codes again and there is only ONE error
    P1540.
I disconnect OP-COM and car stops immediately and there are first two errors again P0251 and P1654.
So conclusion is that car will run for a decade until I disconnect OP-COM.What OP-COM does to car that it will work with him connected or what is wrong with this car that dependent of OP-COM?
What a f..k is happening here??????

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

P.S. It is ISUZU engine with engine code Y17DT

P1651 = injection pump eeprom coms error
P0216 = spill valve malfunction (injection pump)

Leave the op-com connected, charge then a grand tell them to ~~~~ off, they get yourself a new opcom, dont know, P1540 is a\c sensor, maybe the data in the eeprom is corrupt & changes when the op-com is plugged in !!!

Hmm that's the odd one. Did you have a look at pump EDU for dry solder joints? Common fault on 1.7dti astra and ussally comes up with spill valve error code or pump error. Non start or hard to start. Have a look at post 5 here - http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...olution-87103/

AS MH said above if you have security pass reset ECU and re-program. Might work. Also have a look at lower multi plug on engine ECU to see if you have diesel contamination there. As you might have an engine ECU full of diesel coursing all sort of havoc.
Just thinking aloud. Coluld it be possible that ecu is missing earth [internally] or something in that nature and while op-com is plugged In it makes an earth in ecu hence the start. I would try another engine ecu If you can get your hands on one just to eliminate original.
OFF TOPIC: Had something similar with a laptop it would not power up but as long as there was something plugged in usb port it powered up and run. Turned out to be bad solder joint in one of the chips.

    Ok, problem solved.
It was engine Ecu that was making a problem. I put another one and car working without problems. There was not diesel in ECU (I know for that kind of problem) and it is not GND problem (if you disassembled engine ECU you can see that GND wires goes directly on housing of ECU and housing is mounted with screws on engine witch is connected on batteries GND).
Thanks everyone for help and advices here.

    Best regards
