Default Blaupunkt CD 30 MP3 - no sound (Opel Astra)

    Hi Guys,

I have a Blaupunkt CD 30 MP3 here from an Opel Astra H.

The head unit was working OK in the car, then the car was disassembled completely (to have a few panels repainted).

The car then was rebuilt back, and now the radio has no sound.

It seems like it's working as it should, shows the CD tracks or the FM frequency, even shows the radio stations name, but no sound at all from the speakers.

What could be the reason for this?

Is there a way I can solve this?

    Thanks,

    Tibi

if speaker wire is akcidentli shorted to ground the amplifier cut off the sound to all speakers

put the multimeter probe to ground and wit other probe mesuer the 8 wires for speakers for short to gnd.

and another test...solder to 1.5 volt bateri wires ant apli this wires to radio conector and listen if spikers make ticking sound

    sori for bad english

These radio's don't need a code, he said that he only had panel repairs.

Don't it have a mute button on the steering wheel ? or does it have a phone kit fitted ? if so this could be muting the radio.

I can't recall if there's a mute button on the steering or not.

But surely, if I adjust the volume to maximum the mute should switch off automatically, right? Or at least it should write mute on the screen, but nothing like that!

And as I said before, the radio was working OK before the car was stripped down.

I asked the owner and he said something which may lead to the problem.

When the car was put together he accidentally put the instrument cluster's plug the other way round, bending around 5-6 pins in the connector. The car did not start and every ECU had all sorts of CAN errors.
Then the fault was found, the connectors were put back correctly, the car started, everything working OK, expect the radio.

Have you tried to check for audio on the bench. power up the radio using 12v and ground. connect to a speaker . If you have audio then the problem is in the car. Check for short circuit on centre speaker. I have come across this once before

I've tried the stereo on a bench over the weekend.

I connected +12V; GND and a speaker, and I got sizzle from the speaker, and it the volume knob adjusted the volume of it, so I guess the radio is OK then!

I've tried to put a CD into the player, but it did not play the disc - I'm assuming this is due to the lack of display and CAN communication.

    YOU HAVE A DEFECTIVE CD-MECHANISM.
IF CD IS TAKEN IN THEN LASER COULD BE DEFECTIVE.
CHECK ALSO CORRECT POSITION OF LEVERS.

THE CD HAS TO WORK WITH THE DISPLAY DISCONNECTED.
    I DID THE TEST MYSELF.

    REGARDS FRADEBO
